I believe in a fairness in sport and everyone playing by the same rules. Goodes is a protected species and has turned into a dirty player because of that status. Kind of simple really.
Cite me some incidents please that were not dealt with, preferably ones in hte last couple of years, my memory is fading with age, and you did say has turned into a dirty player, so lets start with post 2012

There is no manipulative genius required though. Basically the 'discussion' has been for everyone from the AFL and media, to the race commissioner, even Goodesy's mum, telling people not to boo and/or that it's racist. That is the 'discussion'. If the booing continues, the 'discussion' will continue. What else did he mean when he says he hopes the 'discussion' over now? You think he meant he hopes everyone keeps booing him but no one talks about it anymore?

Making it up again. Try dealing in facts, not how you want to perceive things eh?

It has nothing to do with racism Goodes is a flog and now being protected by the AFL all they are doing is making it worse.

If Adam Goodes had got of his high horse and not made such a complete arse of himself over the last 2 years this probably wouldn't of happened. If he didn't accuse people who booed him of being racist it would of been forgotten about long ago, but no he had to make a song and dance about it because he is better than everyone else.

If Goodes was smart he would've killed this off ages ago, he could've come out and said it motivates him to stick it up those booing him and makes him play better and his teammates do the same. But he's not and it is going to continue because of his actions and now the actions of Gill and Andrew Ireland and all I can say is that he deserves it, because he isn't better than everyone else he is just another self righteous flog who is turning footy into a sideshow where it is about him not the game and it is driving people away.
turning people away? wasn't a spare seat at Domain, that much was obvious

well the crowd are incessantly booing one person, Goodes, so arent they making it all about Goodes? Of course he is going to react with thoughts and comments about his own battle
Naturally.

I don't like Adam Goodes, so I am obviously a racist, when it comes to Aboriginals!
I also don't like Seb Vettel. so now I am a racist when it comes to Germans!
For some reason though, I like Michael Schumacher, who is German and I also like Buddy, Long, The Kralouer brothers, Winmar, Leon Davis and Eddie Betts, just to name a few.
Now I am not just a racist but a confused racist, as I can't seem to dislike a whole race, just a select few people from different backgrounds.
you need to grow up! No one has said every single person who boos is a racist so stop over reacting like a toddler. Try to accept that 1. a small proportion of those booing are probably racially based (but most are not IMO), and 2. Goodes feels that many boos are racially based which is affecting his well being.

Many people are complaining that Goodes is making this all about himself yet its amazing to see the number of people who are personally aggrieved at being asked to stop booing. Seems they are doing exactly the same thing by making it all about themselves! Hypocrites

Like the rest of the "I'm not racist" brigade you keep talking long enough and it becomes obvious you are "not racist you just don't like indigenous people like Adam Goodes".
Way to prove you're not racist.
It has nothing to do with him being indigenous, it is just him. He is a person just like everybody else, why should it matter that he is indigenous?
So because he is indigenous, everybody should automatically love the bloke.
You my friend, are a fool.

If you could find a way to be honest with ouself, which seems impossible, you would know that the systematic booing of a single player has never occured on this scale before, not in my 30 years of watching footy anyway

Take heart, you may not be a racist after all. Certain people will just label you a bully to fit their narrative and lens.

Firstly having a comment, isn't exactly acting like a toddler. I am just sick and tired of everyone (mainly in the media) saying that if you don't like Goodes then you are a racist. Enough is enough you can generally dislike one person and NOT be a racist.
As for Goodes making it about him, well he has every right to, as he is the one being booed.
I personally am not a booer but people are allowed to boo if they want. Although in my opinion, it has gone far enough.

Would they feel more comfy if we booed more random players? Will Goodsey stop whinging if he can be seen as the original?

Happy to take poll as to who else we should target so they can get over it

A celebration of what? Killing? Throwing an imaginary spear at a section of crowd is an act of aggression and provocative. Call it a "war dance" does not make it acceptable.

Tell me, why was Dustim Martins prison locked arms gesture considered offensive and worthy of a $2000 fine?
because it celbrates prison culture and not something a tad more worthwhile? Yay, lets all get locked up........................

I think Milne may disagree there.

Have you read this?

It is quite good and will clear things up for you: you will feel better and have a few of your worries allayed.

good answer, it has gone too far, and I like you also take offence at being accused of being a racist by the media because I am an AFL fan. However, I'm not the one struggling with this issue, Goodes clear is. So I'm going to take it on the chin, forget my objection, swallow my pride, and treat Goodes like I would want to be treated myself if I was in his shoes.

People do forget the WCE supporters have a long history with Goodes too that dates back 10 years.
Some of us don't forget we were robbed.

I also hate Micky OLoughlin.

And Leo Barry.
Kennelly (More racism I guess)
Barry Hall.
Jude.
And that idiot Kirk.
Nice try, but NO, I don't believe you

You still banging on about this?

My view is that football is played on the field, and the focus of footballers should be on the field, not on the crowd, or more pointedly, sections of the opposition crowd. Dustin Martin's prison arms, Mark Murphy's finger, and Jetta's spear throwing 'war dance' are unacceptable. Why? Because they are provocative and have the potential to incite violence. Sadly Gillon McLachlan was too frightened to acknowledge the latter out of political correctness.

People compare the 'war dance' with the traditional ancestral war cry, Haka in NZ. The big difference is that the Haka is directed at the opposition team.

I think Milne may disagree there.
Do you think anyone has had such a sustained and vicious attack from the conservative media? Whatever your political views, you have to admit Miranda Devine has been awful in her attacks on Goodes. Bolt has piled on, of course.
