and yet funnily enough I've watched him play reserves for Collingwood most of the second half of the year and not get near it at that level.


draft in 2010 draft. debuted in 2012, has played 11, 17, 9, 12 games since his debut year, will be 24 by the start of next season, hasn't cemented a spot in the team and is the most replaceable type of player going around flanker/midfielder type. Wreaks of delisting and his selection this week (subject to team finalisation tomorrow) is a chance to put him in the shop window to hope someone trades for him.


btw. Jack Crisp is still 21 (22 this month), had just come off 6 consistently good games to finish the year 2014 where he had actually shown he was a goalkicker (Seedsman 49 games 17 goals).

Crisp wasn't considered a particularly good player or good kick when leaving Brisbane. All his improvement has been done at Collingwood. He would probably be in and out of the team at Brisbane. Leppa obviously couldn't get the best out of the kid.
seedsman won an Anzac Day medal last year, he can play. I don't follow the Pies but can see that he is worth more than a 4th rounder, he might be traded but won't be delisted. That is pure folly.

49 games, four seasons, not cemented his place in an average side - sounds like Bucks has failed to develop him.

Yep but the quote By John Proctor was that Crispy was a goalkicker, Seedsman isn't. I disagree.
Not knocking Crisp at all, he has become an excellent pickup for Collingwood. But if you asked the average Pies supporter before the start of the season they would have thought Crisp was just going to be a VFL player. So the improvement from the start of the year to where he finished at the end was huge.
Brisbane supporters on the other hand might say, he showed great improvement at the end of 2014 and will become a good player.
To be honest i never heard that, I heard Brisbane supporters rapt that they had got Beams for effectively DeGoey Greenwood and Crisp in returne they got Beams and pick 67. You cannot moan that Crisp was going to be good if you threw him in as steak knives for the Beams deal.

Crisp was going anyway. We were lucky to get anything for him.

I don't think a 4th rounder will get it done. It is possible that he might head your way as part of a mega deal that involves a few clubs and picks but a straight out 4th rounder would not get Seedsman to the Lions. That is just my opinion.

Crisp was rumored off to Essendon before the Beams trade. Literally 90% of Brisbane supporters went on and on about how Crisp would be a good pick up for the pies and stated he'd be in their best 22. Not really our fault that they didn't see it that way because they had never watched him?

Crisp has improved slightly since joining Collingwood, as all young players do with more pre seasons and training. But it's not like he has gone from a dud to a star since leaving us.

I agree a fourth rounder is not his value, but equally I think you overrate the merit of his performance in one game as against his performances overall - he is no longer a rookie and hasn't shown enough to warrant much more than a late second or early third round pick for mine.

I mentioned Hampton mid season. Kid has so much potential but he could be one of those players who never lives up to his talent. I can see why he would want to leave - he is down the pecking order at GWS - midfielder/flanker - they have that position covered better than just about any club in the comp.

Has pace and nice skills. Outside playe,r not really a player who will contested ball.

If the rumours are true about the exodus from our club you would take him in a heat beat.

Get a dodgy one going with Gubby. Let them raise Leuey's contract high enough to land us pick 2.

We'll give any other first rounder (WC one) + late second rounder that comes our way for these two blokes and James Stewart.

If they want Pick 2 + late second rounder, replace Stewart with McCarthy.

Now that it is all but confirmed Berger would be leaving at the end of the season, who do we target as a replacement? Z.Smith is IMO the best in the market ATM and he can play forward quite well for a ruck. PSD pick I think.

Downie or Phillips from GWS would be nice. Won't mind Gorringe in preseason either. At least he's past the development phase and filled out already.

No offence Zephi but alot of Brisbane fans were taking to Crisp and he was starting to develop nicely... the Pies developed him further yes, but you cant catagorically say he wouldnt of played to that level at the Lions as preseasons are gold to young players

So you don't follow collingwood and you didn't watch crisp play his last 6 games at brisbane yet you feel qualified to discuss?

As a brisbane fan I've watched crisps last 6 games last year (where he was kicking a goal week and averagin20+ posessions a game surprisingly like he has done hits year at the lies - who would have guessed?) and as a resident of collingwood who lives 500m from Victoria park I've watched Seedsman average about 15 posessions in the vfl the last month or so having specifically watched him post his being linked to brisbane. I can't tell if he's an elite kick because he has spent more time arriving at the contest about a second too late to affect it than actually getting the ball.

Yeah there are definitely young rucks around. A lot of options if you're looking for a backup and not necessarily a prime ruck.

The surprise is that the dual SANFL premiership player with Norwood has Victorian clubs chasing him harder than Port Adelaide or Adelaide.
The Magpies, Carlton and Melbourne have all expressed interest in Aish, who like fellow Liam Pickering client Tom Boyd before him is likely to leave before his career has taken off.

Melboune might test the trade value of Watts...the No. 1 draft pick of 2008.....

After starring in the Demons' most recent win against Collingwood in round 18, Watts' form has trailed away in recent weeks. He had just 14 disposals in Melbourne's loss to Fremantle last Sunday.
The omission is sure to elicit renewed calls for Watts to find a new club, despite him still having a year to run on his contract at the club.

Although contracted Brisbane Lion Jack Redden's preferred new home is West Coast, Richmond and Melbourne are also believed to be interested in the prospective 2016 free agent.

The futures of Melbourne pair Jeremy Howe and Colin Garland remain up in the air. Out-of-contract utility Howe is understood to have remained on Greater Western Sydney's radar after the Giants made a late play for him in last year's trade period. Restricted free agent Garland's negotiations with Melbourne remain on-going but a new deal appears some way off.

and so far the best offer is.....

West Coast vice-captain Scott Selwood remains highly likely to join elder brother Joel at Geelong. If the Eagles were to receive an end of first round or second round compensation pick for the restricted free agent, they could look to use it in a trade for Redden or Jetta.

With regards to Crisp, I think the fact that maybe majority of Collingwood supporters over rate their side, thus assuming he was going to be nothing more than a depth player.
