Brisbane will want a late first round to mid second round pick if Martin is adamant he wants to go. I don't see us as being interested given his age and injury history. I think Martin can play... but I wouldn't recruit him if it was my decision.

Just like to throw my hat into the ring regarding two players mentioned today:

Jake Melksham and Dan Currie. Shocking, shocking players. I don't know who's got into Jake's ear but if Essendon have offered him a two year extension then he should take it, even if it's on substantially lower wages. If he knows something (e.g. another club has made an offer to him) then more power to him. To say I'd be disappointed if it was us would be the understatement of the century. He has zero upside, zero class and would barely make an impact at a reasonable state level.

Dan Currie. The man that took at least 7 years and two clubs to make a debut and still has less than a handful of games. A truck of ruckman. Add's nothing but a mature big body. A dinosaur the game passed long ago. Rather spend that pick/spot on a rookie ruckman.

not sure if its been mentioned but, Jed Adcock was the deference on the week end, he looked very composed in attack and has played his bulk career as a defender. Abit of a swin man if you ask me.

Im for giving him a go on Brett Goodes rookie possition next year assuming Goodes doesnt get a contract extension.

He was captain and played a fair few finals with Brisbane. Surely would benifit the kids and help monitor them. Thoughts?

Don't think he'd get picked up in the rookie draft, he'd be a delisted free agent or traded for a token 5th rounder if anyone wanted him.

Agree, they have other players that should be well gone before him. Not sure of Bewicks contract status but I just don't see him as a decent AFL footballer at all. Also strange that they know they are losing players and yet they are willing to get rid of more experience and fabric of the club. Maybe all about Rockliff?

Brisbane were shown to have made a really bad call in R23. Reminded me of Melbourne punting all their experience players and ending up with no onfield leadership.
