Up late watching the replay, and up early to - hopefully! - see Federer chalk up number 18. Two and a half hours of rain and old footage later...

Another non-voted-for PM.

This country is f***ed.
The political scene needs a reset with voters being force fed slogans and choosing government on that basis. Lets hope this moves us towards that.

I was shocked that Turnbull won.
I wasn't, he wouldn't have challenged if he didn't have the numbers. He's one smart operator.

Shorten and the ALP will be shitting themselves.

Didn't think it was possible for this picture to be any more fitting.

It needs people who actually give a **** about the country. Not their own self interest.

I'm at a really stressful point in my life right now. :(

Impossible for some of you I fear, but, like him or otherwise, spare a thought for a very decent man who has tonight suffered the ignominy of losing his job before the eyes of the nation. He, and his family, will be hurting.

As a Liberal, I haven't been a supporter of Turnbull, but now that he's been elevated to the Prime Ministership, I sincerely hope he can find a way to unite us all, for a better Australia, and a prosperous future.

I am. I'm starting to talk to my family more about this sort of stuff. It's good to let it out sometimes.

It is important you talk to someone, mate.

That's one thing I truly believe about turnbull - he's not in it for money or to prove he can be successful, he'd already become extremely successful and wealthy before he entered politics.

Great to see someone who's been successful in the real world as PM rather than party apparatchiks and trade union officials - I'm hoping for quite a shift in the political landscape.

Jeff Kennett doesn't like Turnbull, I like him even more already.

Turnbull is a moderate right who cares a lot more about the people, I would more likely vote for him than Shorten if I had any confidence the LNP wouldn't stab him in the back after an election and put another peanut in power, the moderate right doesn't have the balance of power in the LNP.
