Yeh, coz he is going to win a flag at Geelong. Not.

If he goes, karma will get him just like it has for Tippett. No flag and not likely for them either.

Geelong won't win a flag for years
Drawing with Saints and losing to Pies ... Not exactly a team on the up
He'd be the quick fix recruit we hoped for when we got Carey.

Even Hawks - as good as they were last night were good because of their older players. They've lost their "consistently "good form.

That leaves Collingwood - who want Treloar (?)

My brother is heavily involved in country footy and I respect his judgment

He reckons Danger's off to the Hawks to win premierships

Please God, no

Well he will miss that bus as well, this is Hawks last year I reckon. It is another just like Geelong has fallen off the pace. Ageing stars with one last effort (yes I saw last night but that was more about us than them).

Well, if he does go I would suggest he take tippets lead with respect to playing a game in Adelaide because he will get a similar reception.
I've said before, it's like when a girlfriend breaks up with you, but gives you the "But I really like you and want to stay friends" line so she doesn't feel like the bad guy in everything. Sorry, it doesn't work that way, you can't walk out on the club and still have me think you're a great guy.

Spoke to someone in the know. Asked about danger. Told me he didn't know and that the players he had discussed it with had said they hadn't been told by danger yet.

I'm not saying danger is undecided but I would have thought the playing group would know his intentions

I dedicated a Mötley Crüe song.......

We're only assuming that.

I'm well and truly in the going camp, so if PD does leave he wont get the respect of the likes of Johnathon Brown, Mark Ricciutto, Glen Archer, Michael Voss, Brett Kirk, Luke Hodge, Mathew pavlich where they have put everything into their club and the game show integrity and loyalty he will be like Judd,Ablett, buddy great players but lack the attributes of those great players who would bleed for their club he will become a football mercenary and will not be remembered like the true champion. He will be adopted by Geelong if he goes but they won't hold him in the same regard as Bartel, Scarlett, enright, Corey players that have helped make the team what it is from the start of their career to the end.

It's a generational thing. The game has moved on.

Judd, Ablett, Buddy are all players of the modern game.

It wasn't as easy for players like Johnathon Brown, Mark Ricciutto, Glen Archer, Michael Voss, Brett Kirk, Luke Hodge, Mathew pavlich to leave - even if they wanted to. (Maybe disregard last two players).

The Free Agency culture basically means loyalty - true Aussie Rules football loyalty as we know it - is all but dead. A few will surprise us but at the top end, players will move about as they wish, for money and lifestyle. We are a decade behind other world sports in this regard.

Just another note ... there's a lot of Patty bashing going on after last night's game (it's understandable). Ironically, he was our only player who stood up for four quarters. I must say there is a lot of bitterness about it (I'm in the same boat, don't worry).

Point: wouldn't it be funny if he did in fact sign on with us. Judas again becomes Jesus. Clangerfield is again Dangerfield and all of a sudden 'our' #32 can hit a dime on the head all day every day.

Sadly this will be so, and sadly, because of the population of Melbourne compared to Adelaide and the number of players who will originally come from there, on balance it will be better for those clubs. Someone who grew up playing supporting Collingwood but who gets drafted by Carlton doesn't have a go home factor at all. Put him in a Crows/Port guernsey and he does.

We will be able to match them for $$$ but not for media/commercial profile and not for home with mates and family.

Cheery times.

Yeah, this sentiment reeks of being dumped but then saying "I never liked her anyway"

Given that it seems that Gill knows what's going on. I assume that the Crows have gone to the AFL to apply to pay less than 95% of salary cap next year given that if they want to be able to match the PD deal and he leaves they will have nearly $1million in the kitty.

Wow. This thread. Wow.

Nothing's really changed with his signing since yesterday. Maybe see how it plays out before getting in the bulk order of pitchforks.

Not sure if people honestly believe that at this point or if they're joking :(
Other than the fact that he hasn't signed. Can you point to anything that proves he isn't staying?

Realistically we have no information either way. There are plenty of rumours, but we hear plenty of rumours every year about players. Some are true, but the vast majority turn out to be complete crap.

Mindful that the AFL openly does not want free agents, who are moving clubs, to come out and say so while their season is still in progress.

Please provide one legitimate reason why a player would not have signed by the end of the year, nor stated - or given any indication of- their intention or desire to want to stay on, when every other key player has?
