As expected, we signed Andrew Moore on a 1 year deal. Hopefully proves to be a gem. His brother Kel was a late developer so hopefully he'll be similar.

Suns got Grant too I think?

Speaking of Malthouse, how is Daisy doing....
That wasn't as bad as everyone makes out. This season was a write off for a reason that was unavoidable. He'd never had shoulder injuries before so to go down 10 seconds into the season was an unforseen disaster.

I'm tipping he'll surprise a few next season.

In hindsight it was an awful deal. Overpaying based on one good season at Collingwood, in the process losing a pick 14 compo for Betts, especially when you were unwilling to overpay on Betts. Bizarre in the extreme.

He had his foot problems in the lead up to the Carlton move didn't he? It was very risky and he difinitely isn't worth $700k a season.

He strikes me as a player who looks like a superstar in a very good side but in one that struggles doesn't stand up.

You couldn't be more wrong IMO but I can see how he gives that impression to be fair. Daisy was a star for us and people really forget just how vital he was to our engine room in 2010 & 2011. There's a big misconception that he was just a flashy player but he contributed a lot of the grunt work, regularly got sent to the oppositions best midfielder, and was always one to stand up in the big games. If the 2010 Norm Smith was given over two legs then Daisy would have taken it home, he was brilliant in those games.

You're right about the injury issues though, they started well before he moved to Carlton and have impacted heavily on his output ever since 2011 which was his career best year. If the injuries weren't a factor there's no doubt in my mind that we'd have matched Carlton's offer and tried to convince him to stay.

Spot on. The injury this season wasn't one anyone could predict though. Wasn't as though he's ankle was the issue.

I do hope he gets a good run at it this year, more so for his sake. Must be frustrating.

Jatz Dan Gorringe has been signed. Surely between him and Phillips we don't have to play Cam Wood as a lone ruck anymore with Levi pinch hitting
Yeah an interesting one. We now get to decide who partners Kreuze with Wood, Phillips, Gorringe and Korcheck (to a lesser extent).

I don't think Wood is as bad as he's made out to be.

Happy to give anyone a chance to prove themselves next year, we are most likely going to finish last so if a kid could be part of our future let him show it this season.

Given the amount of ruckman you have recruited, i suspect the only person who rates Wood is Crazy Mick.

Wood & Levi at their very best are good VFL backup rucks
Levi is a forward that can pinch hit. With less rotations, that'll be a commodity.

Also has something to do with how old Wood is. I'm not saying he's a star but he's serviceable. He seems to struggle when he has to play more than 5 games in a row.
