Just so we can put this debate to rest too;

0.03 - Strong, front on tackle to halt the play and force a stoppage.
0.10 - Fast, in-close handball while under pressure to a team-mate
0.20 - Solid, front on bump knocking over an opponent and striking the ball over the boundary line
1.02 - Fast handball through two opponents to find a target
1.18 - Shrugs a tackler to find an a team-mate on the outside
2.23 - Centre clearance - quick handball to a team-mate running full-tilt
3.00 - Contested possession
3.14 - Centre clearance - quick handball back to a team-mate
3.33 - Quick hands under extreme pressure to a team-mate
4.25 - Three efforts after being first to the ball against 3 WA opponents
4.43 - Dispossessing tackle to win a free kick
5.16 - Evades three and then gets a handball out to a running team-mate while being tackled
5.25 - Releases a handball backwards while being tackled

For an outside player his inside skills and poise under pressure are exceptional.

This herein ends the baseless hyperbole and misguided profiling of him.
Great post!

Unlucky mate.

You can rank players in whatever order you'd like and wax lyrical about the upsides and downsides of any prospect but you can't dismiss objective vision of the player in question.

In 5 minutes of highlights, Milera has THIRTEEN inside acts; tackles, bumps, handballs under immense pressure or contested possessions. That alone says that he's got more tricks and a bigger work rate than the ill-directed guesses you've got based on his position, his role, his size and his x factor and ground level skills - which you've turned into negatives by association.

Millera looks really good. Can't see us losing out with pick 8 snd maybe even 11..plenty of players in the 1st rd

Bearing in mind it is a "highlight reel", we all see things differently :

3:36 - kicks long to a team-mate who is behind his opponent and gets outmarked instead of using one of the guys on his left & his right who he could of put it in front of
3:53 - after a good overhead mark, he handballs to a team-mates feet and it spills
4:02 - after a burst of speed, dishes off a handball and then receives it back and drops it like a hot spud
5:00 - rubbish handball to a team-mate under the pump

Look, he has some attributes but I'm not sold on him, others will be.

If he gets drafted by Carlton, I hope I'm wrong, if he goes to another club, then I hope I'm right.

Just thought I would put together my thoughts before the draft, this list of names may change a few times before draft night.

I've based my list on what Carlton requires and thoughts on our rebuild.
I still would not mind getting one or two extra talls with our second, third or fourth draft picks.
If we have our eye on a tall that may last until our 5th pick, then I would not be upset with a bunch of smaller players with picks 2-4.

3. Callum Mills
4. Jacob Hopper
5. Wayne Milera
6. Eric Hipwood

None of these examples point to him being flaky, soft or 'too outside' though. You've just nit-picked a few very minor errors.

Speculate about him going him home after two years, argue that he doesn't fill a need or he isn't as talented as other prospects but don't perpetuate false perceptions through ignorance.

If we did go with Weitering and three mids what would we do in 2016 if our only first round pick is #1 and the top three ranked kids are all midfielders?

It wasn't that long ago that we had (in my opinion) the best midfield in the comp but we still fell short in finals.

I'd personally like us to go with 1 Weitering, 8 Oliver or McKay, 11 a tall in McKay, Burton or Collins and then with 19 the best available mid which could be Gresham, Mathieson or Clarke. Then next year we take the best mid with our first round pick.

:)
If we have pick 1 and no decent talls are in the draft (very unlikely) we can offload that for the best KPF in the league. Player like Dixon went for pick 10.. I'm sure Sos has a good grasp at who is coming through.. Everyone says this draft is shallow, happens every year..

Bailey Rice 12.2 beep not great for a player playing local footy, not sure how much silvagni ever really wanted him given we have plenty of options on the half back flank.

I don't need to do any of those things, I am basing my thoughts on what I see.

Put it this way, if we are going to take a mid-sized player and the choice is between Milera & Oliver, I'd be voting for Oliver every day of the week.
