Just shit from Dusty, blacked out and can't remember, can't imagine how awful he made someone feel and he must just absolutely be guttered having all the unwanted attention on him that he so does not want. Wtf man, just shattered our best player goes and does this. Smells a bit in terms of how this is panning out. And finally KB Richmond could have handled it better? Yeah maybe, but what are you doing ffs?

Of course, which is why I said the afl may convince her to report if they think it's serious enough
Convincing of what though?
If she felt that threatened she wouldn't need to be talked into going to the cops.

Sorry to say but it almost sounds like you want him to be charged by the fuzz.

If she genuinely feared for her safety, and this according to the age the afl/RFC were unresolved on, it should be reported to the cops

Ultimately it's her call, but if rfc believe that occurred I would hope they encourage her to speak to the cops and discuss relevant charges being laid.

That was her thinking before she felt RFC were watering down and before the afl got involved

People change their minds

Fwiw I'm hoping she didn't fear for her physical safety so this is a non issue, and it can be managed in house
So she wants revenge for a richmond statement?

Did you miss the report she was afraid of "consequences" thanks to dustys old mans social club activities?

Plenty of people don't press charges for fear of retaliation

Yet she went to the press.lol

No, she felt Richmond were not taking it seriously enough

Maybe Richmond were going to deal with this in-house and place some sanctions on Martin's behaviour without going public about this. Most clubs would keep this quiet, and deal with it internally. I am sure Richmond wouldnt' let Martin off the hook that easy.

What's he going to get, a good behavior bond for a first offence and a stern talking too.

As mentioned, it sounds like our initial media statements falsely created the view we were minimising this (by calling it a hiccup for instance)

Don't disagree, but he also gets it on his record, which will have consequences in later life

But they run to the media instead, ok.

As above, dad may see a $5k fine and weeks on the sideline very different to rocking up in court and risking real consequences

Again it's about her perceived fears, not what you or I think is realistic

Someone posted earlier he would likely be eligible for a diversion program with no conviction recorded

That's crap. That thinking stopped years ago when people said it wasn't rape if you didn't report it immediately

The courts would still look at it differently, judge will question her as to why she never phoned 000 at the time of the threat, and why she never at all reported it to the police, instead, she went to the media, before going down the appropriate channels for a matter such as this to be dealt with.

If you truly feared for your life, you would call the police immediately.

Well there is one certainty out of this and that is regarding punishment whatever it may be

1. Some people will say it was too harsh.
2. Some people will say it was appropriate.
3. Some people will lose their shit and say it was too leniant.
Nothing good will come from what happened, shouldn't be surprising.

That depends upon how the hearing goes - personally I'd rather not risk it
