I don't think it is that unexpected that the evocative and hyperbolic nature of media reporting becomes more noticeable when one of your own is in the gun

This story seems to be typical of the narrative that develops for many stories in this social media dominated landscape. An ambiguous set of events leads to extreme polarization of opinion (camp 1 - Dusty the would be murderer, camp 2 - woman, the vindictive baiter). Both accounts are obviously wrong

I just hope to christ that Richmond and the AFL are committed to getting the facts, and administering a punishment of reasonable severity proportional to the offence

They don't need articles at later dates about how the afl rammed this through, and she wasn't given a fair go
