Black Mass.

Wow a after wTching trailers a few months back I thought I'd finally see a film with Depp in it I enjoyed since fear and loathing.

I was wrong. What a waste of a potentially great story. 5/10.
Hasn't made a good film since the first Pirates of the Caribbean. Has such talent but picks such shocking films.

Agree. My wife loves him but can't name a film she likes of his.Don't think black mass is his fault, the whole film is misguided and without any real style. Throw Scorcese in as director and it might have been brilliant.

It's not that I don't like him, but it's just he's become a sure sign that a movie is going to be rubbish.

Been that way for a long time. I never liked the Pirates films so it's fear and loathing since I've seen anything I liked. Before that you would have to go back to 21 Jump St, or nightmare on elm st.
He's been incredibly lucky to still be up there really.

The Lobster - Very weird & dark black comedy. So ridiculous in some ways yet it's played dead pan for the entire movie. A little slow moving in parts and it takes a while to reveal everything that's going on but they're minor quibbles for such an original film. 8/10

Macaulay Culkin as Kevin from home alone.... 20 years in the future :D Not gonna lie I think he can still act. Needs to make a comeback like Robert Downey Jr.

That was pretty good.

I spose the 'poor' bloke is doomed when it comes to most tv/film work wise as you can still see that little kid in his face. A name change & skip another 20 years & he might have a better chance.

Basically my thoughts & rating on this one. Strange from scene 1 right to the end. & what an ending.

I liked Sweeney Todd.

Watched Dark Places tonight. Not a masterpiece but I enjoyed it.

The Wrecking Crew. The story of a small group of musicians who played the instruments, mostly uncredited, on hundreds of the most popular hits of the 1960s and 1970s. Musos might enjoy or other old farts like Gough

Watched that snoopy movie today, not sure why but it was quite good for a child's movie

It Follows. Not bad. A few good scares and I enjoyed the simple retro horror aspects.

We have a Belgian neighbour, she's about 82. She's always watching and telling you the local gossip or how you should or shouldn't park/ride a bike/eat/breath ect... When we walk the dog she always appears somewhere... We named her the woman who follows, after this film. She's a bit weird, but then again she's Belgian!

Wake in Fright - Classic Australian movie about a teacher who gets stuck in an outback town and falls in with the hard-living locals. Such a raw & gritty movie, and an atmosphere that at any point violence could erupt. Never has being offered a beer seemed so menacing. There's a couple of really tough scenes to watch (especially if you're an animal lover). Excellent movie. 8.5/10

Ghost - never really got into all the hype about this when it came out about 25 something years ago and think I even purposely avoided it then, but watched it tonight and actually found it to be pretty good entertainment. Vale Patrick Swayze. - 6.5/10

UNBROKEN

**** what a movie
WHAT A STORY !!!!

Jack O'Connell was fantastic.
Young Jolie may have a big career ahead of her....
8/10

Foxcatcher was stuffed up.

Look up ESPN's 30 for 30 - " The prince of Pennsylvania " for more of the story.

Birdman - I know this did well with the awards, but wtf was that? There was barely a plot and then absolutely no ending... awesome. I can see why the critics loved it as it tried to be different to most other movies, but it was just too weird.

Did anyone think maybe Riggan needed to be under 24 hour vision in the hospital after trying to off himself?
