Yeah absolutely. I hadn't really seen much featuring him but I watched The Drop and Locke in the space of a couple of days and thought he and the films were great.
He also stars in a great MMA based action flick called "Warrior" with Nick Nolte. Pretty decent watch if you're a fan of such things.

Warrior is seriously underrated. One of those films that many haven't seemed to watch. The National in the soundtrack was a bonus!

Spotlight

Definitely see why it's the favourite for the Oscar. It's a flawless procedural and far from sensationalist. Not showy but somehow still very cinematic.

The Hateful Eight.

This one certainly isn't for everyone and one of the few movies where I feel you'd be right in saying that it's a good movie, or of you said it wasn't.
There are justifiable arguments for both sides. I enjoyed it knowing it to be a Tarantino but not so sure I would have given it half the chance if it wasn't.

Odd sort of who-dunnit (as it turns out) and the run-time will have some looking at their watches although it went quicker for me than Star Wars, which was a good half an hour shorter. It has its highlights of course but you won't want to miss too much of the dialogue for which the most part was slick and engaging.
Rating? Maybe 7/10

The Hateful Eight : A good watch, 1st class cast, plenty of laughs, blood, and gratuitous violence, long live the Spaghetti Western genre 8.5/10

Didn't you feel though that there was a lot of the 'same old' vibe about it though?
I admire Tarantino for re-casting his favourites into his movies, but I'm not sure it really works all of the time, even for the good performances.
I find it draws you too much into the previous works which takes away from what's going on in front of you, in that moment.....and in particular with, SLJ

Devils Pass
or The Dyatlov Pass Incident

I know...another found footage movie but I really enjoyed this one.....again. Maybe I've just watched the better ones.
Certainly has its fair share of riveting moments and then takes a turn to the........well, let's say weird. 7/10

the Intern - Formulaic, but pretty good one if you looking for something to watch with the girlfriend. Typical Anne Hathaway chickflick. De Niro does well. He has got away with pulling that same face for 50 years.

7/10

I watched that a couple of weeks ago. Good idea but I think the budget let it down which is the case with most horror movies.

The Walk -

Joseph Gordon-Lovitt is a star and no different in this performance. Anyone else and I doubt I would bother based on the quality of current performances, however this was well worth it.
8-10

Hateful Eight -

Crap - Quentin and his spaghetti westerns are getting a bit repetitive, from the start it was hard to watch and no different at the end.
4-10

The Revenent

Brought together two of my favourite actors in Leo and Hardy - what a film. The scenery is worth the movie ticket alone, but this was great. You can understand why this was so long in the making with crew leaving left right and centre- wonderful scenery - great acting and a great plot. Overall i'd say nearly perfect at 9.5/10. Loved it and highly reccomended.

A movie called Locke, which effectively features Tom Hardy as the only cast member. For a film that is pretty much just a guy driving from point A to point B London it was an engaging story and Hardy delivers a riveting performance.

Yeah, Locke is brilliant.

Hardy would be one of only a handful of actors on the planet who could pull that off.
Didn't rate it.

Creed. Awesome addition to the series, played homage to the original in many ways. Good humour, great acting from both leads, and awesome to see so much everton in there. Solid 8.65/10

The Rocky franchise would have to be my favorite franchise of all time

Hateful Eight:
Bit disappointing; certainly some good moments and performances (particularly Jennifer Jason Leigh and Sam Jackson), but, unlike a lot of Tarantino films, it's not something that I'll feel compelled to return to.

Bridge of Spies:
Great film, directed by Spielberg with and partially scripted by the Coens, so quality was pretty much assured. Interesting story very much based in fact. Spielberg couldn't quite help himself with the slightly schmaltzy ending, but I can forgive it as the film really did offer plenty.

Trying to think of one equal of better but struggle.

The Bourne franchise was not bad. Seen 3 of them and all good movies. Rocky has about 3 excellent movies in series alone.

Room - 7.5/10

Was a little longer than it needed to be but was very good. Performances were outstanding. One scene was particularly tense.

Apparently the novel it's based on isn't a true story, although author took its inspiration from similar events.
I watched this on your recommendation. It was excellent.

Loved the character played by the kid. The director should be commended for getting the young actor to play such a convincing role.

8/10
