Can not believe Richmond are going to use the cover of the Essendon story to excuse away Dustin Martins behavior and not suspend him, the AFL organization as a whole needs to take a serious look at the way it behaves.

They may try to excuse the behaviour, but they can't excuse those neck tattoos.

Richmond's Dustin Martin to avoid major punishment

Richmond's Dustin Martin looks certain to line up in round one against Carlton after being cleared of any serious wrong-doing by an AFL investigation.

Martin was accused of threatening of a woman with a chopstick at a Japanese restaurant last month but Victoria Police later dropped its investigation.

Fairfax Media understands that initial allegations aimed at Martin could also not be substantiated by AFL investigators. The league's review was completed last week.

One might question the timing of this announcement...

It was reported (Caroline Wilson) on footy classified last night that it has been revealed key parts of the story were fabricated by the woman. Yes he was drunk and probably high and was probably a dick but the part about him threatening the woman with chopsticks and hitting the wall near her head have been found to be not true.
We as a society can not just believe every story a member of the public says and at the same time can not except what the media tells us as fact.

If he did something bad i think the tigers would suspend him.

People retract statements under pressure all the time, especially victims of violence, from the outset this woman stated she did not want police involvement she just wanted the club to be aware of what had happened, it turned into a media circus. Sorry personal background may be effecting perspective here, let's agree that things may not always be as reported.

People lie all the time too. Just as you said, things are not always as reported.

I personally doubt there was enough as much in it as reported initially - the weight of evidence suggests it. Police laid no charges, the woman didn't want to go to them, Richmond haven't sanctioned him.... Comes down to the chances of everyone involved being in cahoots vs the original story being hammed up...

Ahhh correct punctuation and correct use of capital letters. The biggest difference between helping my Uncle Jack off a horse and helping my Uncle jack off a horse.
An example from an infamous book.

A panda walks into a café. He orders a sandwich, eats it, then draws a gun and proceeds to fire it at the other patrons.

"Why?" asks the confused, surviving waiter amidst the carnage, as the panda makes towards the exit. The panda produces a badly punctuated wildlife manual and tosses it over his shoulder.

"Well, I'm a panda," he says. "Look it up."

The waiter turns to the relevant entry in the manual and, sure enough, finds an explanation. "Panda. Large black-and-white bear-like mammal, native to China. Eats, shoots and leaves."

Very sad to learn of Ken Judge's passing.

I recall he was one man who warned the WCE management about the insidious drug culture of the players the Eagles, but they didn't listen.

Seemed like a good man with solid principles.

Been a very upsetting week.

One of our assistants for our last premiership.

Didn't realise he was ill, couldn't have been too old either. What a week.
