He is a good bloke. Hope he comes back but he does have a point that it is annoying to be constantly tagged by people when discussing certain players. Many did it to him and many do it to MD.Completely off topic, but VitalDread where is TheHoneyBadger ??

If anyone thinks we couldn't afford him, then surely pies join us in that category. They'd be fairly close to 100% also. Not sure if it was mentioned in the HS article, but Hurley has met with Nathan Buckley already. So yes, he is clearly exploring his options.

It's not him mateThat JEDi 44 or whatever account is probably him. He likes to name himself after spuds.
I don't think anyone will offer more than Richmond at 900k as rumored. If its money he goes there but they can never land big recruits for other reasons.
I doubt he'll leave, but there's a thread on the d&t board about Lachie Whitfield. If we can't land one of the Essendon players then I'd be all over him.
I don't think he'd cost that much money wise and I reckon he's going to be a star. Very classy player.
I think we're at the point of time where (ruckman aside) we either look at FA (ie Suckling is an upgrade on Grant) or hit the draft. Trade for needs, draft best available from hereNo we need him? I think our strategy needs to be build with what we have and continue to be smart through the draft. I can't see too many holes in our list. TC, Will and Roughy are perhaps the weakest link, but they are all serviceable. Let's continue to get the culture piece right and not jump at ridiculous trades or pay a fortune for a FA and then lose one of our guns because we can't afford them.
In my view Whitfield doesn't really have any elite qualities to be a real star. Doesn't have the size, speed, inside game, nor does he have the footskills of someone like Bob Murphy.
Won't ever be a top 10 - 20 mid in the game.

Slightly harder version of an Aish or a Toumpas. Good player, would be a best 22 but I don't think we will ever see these types go picks 1-5 again in a moderate draft. Pick one in the Stringer year if I remember right![]()
