Wouldn't touch Vickery. I'd take a punt on Daw if we lost Jenkins but he is still unproven.I strongly believe both will stay at their respective clubs.
However, for discussion sake, what about Ty Vickery or Majak Daw
Both would come much cheaper than the asking price opf Jenkins and both could improve in our set up. Both could kick 30 to 40 goals a season and become valuable players with Tex, Lynch and Betts around them.
And here I was thinking it was a public gathering of celebritiesIt's when you think like a celery

And while you're at it, can someone also tell me what celebrally means?![]()
Ive been thinking about this alleged big offer from Brisbane and to me it makes sense. They bring in a strong forward who is able to take the pressure off their developing guys. They pay him overs for what hed get in an established team but they have a minimum cap they need to pay and they bring in some IP from the top attacking side in the comp.

Would prefer Ben brown. I'd happily pay him up to $500k pa for 4/5 years if Jenkins leaves. And doubt NM would match.Wouldn't touch Vickery. I'd take a punt on Daw if we lost Jenkins but he is still unproven.
I didn't know Ben Brown was in the discussion. Of course he is the more attractive option, but he'd be an untouchable at NM, not worth the wasted breath.Would prefer Ben brown. I'd happily pay him up to $500k pa for 4/5 years if Jenkins leaves. And doubt NM would match.

You've probably got a point. There has to be a point where raw production out weighs everything else regardless of the how's and whys.
Our sling shot footy creates a lot of fast turnovers, and space for a quick gazelle like JJ to run into. We saw that 3 or 4 times on the weekend
If he goes to another club he'll make Warwick Cappers move to Brisbane look like a success.
I was a fan of Nathan Vardy initially but he's had endless injury troubles. Anyone know if he's back playing?
Offer Rory Lobb 1 mirrion dorrars a season.

Yep. Despite what it looks like, I wasn't joking haha.I actually would do that

I think that's a pretty good point.
To take it a bit further, if we're valuing what we should pay, we should probably be considering what he can do within our structure.
The market will dictate a high price, irregardless of how we may predict he'd perform as the spearhead of Brisbane, simply because there's a dearth of key forwards. In addition, struggling clubs need that good news signing over the offseason to generate membership sales.
Leaving that aside, it may be true that we wouldn't get the same value out of him in a structure that doesn't have Tex, Eddie, Lynch. But we do have all of those for now. Is there another player that's going to do as well as Jenkins for us if we get rid of Jenkins? I'm not so sure. He might not be a #1, but his combination of size and speed make him a very dangerous #3 or #4. Perhaps a more traditional forward wouldn't do as well, because they wouldn't have the same pace coming back over the top of zones to get the goal square goals.
Is he out of contract though?Would prefer Ben brown. I'd happily pay him up to $500k pa for 4/5 years if Jenkins leaves. And doubt NM would match.
JJ v LobbI wouldn't do that (quite)
But I'd much rather offer Lobb $1m than JJ $750
Lobb much younger.. he is gonna be a star.JJ v Lobb
Goals: 3.1 v 1.4
Disposals: 13.0 v 10.8
Disposal Efficiency: 79.2% v 73.1%
Clangers: 0.9 v 2.0
Marks: 5.6 v 4.5
Goal Assists: 1.3 v 0.3
Hitouts: 4.4 v 5.4
JJ really hits the scoreboard & whilst Lobb looks at exciting prospect, he is still inconsistent & an unkown as to whether he will be a consistent performer like JJ.
Paying Lobb anywhere near $1m would be a ridiculous decision!
He looks promising, but how many good games has he played?Lobb much younger.. he is gonna be a star.
Whats wrong with the star we have now?Lobb much younger.. he is gonna be a star.
