Simple question really, watching the Essendon-St. Kilda game today Merrett and Membrey would have to be 2 nominations.

Matt Taberner.

Had been dropped roughly 18 times in his short 40 game career. Came back stronger then ever to show real resilience and now racks up 5 marks a game like nobodies business.

Was inches away from being dropped permanently and fading away at Peel before moving into some apprenticeship at age 25.

Now will be the rock around which we rebuild our forward line. If everything goes swimmingly and we trade aggressively and find some guns in the draft over the next 3 years, one Matty Taberner will be a big part of our finals push in 2020.

He'd be close to sitting on 100 games, 80+ goals and upped his average marks per game to 5.5

I can't see how anyone can compare. If the AFL had a stock market for players Taberner would've been that penny dredful sitting at 1 cent. Easily worth 1.5 cents now and payday is only 3 years away when he'll be valued at 2.5 cents.

We've had a lot step up:
Dempsey and Ambrose in defence.
Tippa from VFL level
Daniher is growing game by game.

Merrett is a tough one to call.
He flew under the radar last year. I honestly thought he was up there as the Rising Star.
He wasn't a strong FF or a shining light in a rebuilding team. But he was looking more and more like a seasoned player as the season fell apart.
He has really just continued where he left off in 2015.

Laird was AA last season. He and Talia should have been in for Murphy and Rance. That said, he is getting better.

Lyons, Atkins, Matty Crouch, Cameron, Jenkins, Lever.
Plenty of improvement at the Crows.

Squad, but not team. This year will be a lock for the team hopefully. But some good other calls there by you anyway.
