When Connor's players are retired and in their 40s, unless they have played for their new clubs for 6-8 years,they will not be seen to be either an Essendon or Melbourne/Saints or Port guy. It's a long time to be retired without a club to be part of. Maybe most will not care but after the whole situation they will still be explaining Dank without being seen as part of the club anymore. How many multi club guys are really welcome back unless they win a premiership. One thing for sure - Connors will be long gone with his x% commission. It will not matter to him.

Reckon the 'public spat' is based on a few arguments in the Hibberd and Hurley threads on bigfooty. My uninformed and ignorant view is Hibberd is 50/50 and Hurley is probably a 20% chance for us. We will be paying Tom McDonald and Hogan a lot of money (Yes, I think we will keep both), if Hurley wants to come to us he will have to take unders.

With Connors in charge does not surprise me. I wonder if people will still think "Paul Connors is the best player manger in the league" if the same thing happens with Hurley.

Again you just do not get it do you ? It is simple, he gets the players what they want which makes him one of the best player managers. He has no obligation to the club or its supporters. You do not have to like it but that is his job. He speaks to the clubs and works with what is on offer. If Hurley goes it will be for a better offer. Conners will have no part in other clubs and their offers, he just has to find the best for his player and put it on the table.
