Still fielding 3 sides each week, played plenty of kids and will continue to do so. Have played 20 players in the ones this year who are 20 years of age or younger and more importantly all played at our junior club. Not all doom and gloom. Recruiting obviously didn't work but a positive is the exposure to senior footy the kids have had. Junior club is 370 kids strong and we are no longer losing kids to other Nfl clubs in the area. The Next 5 or 6 years will be exciting to watch the kids develop. Go Bears!
Crazy, crazy, crazy, the only reason you played all the kids is because you had no other choice, but good on you for trying to put a positive spin on it. Now tell us all about the sacking of the President and will you be naming something after him?

The funny thing is that I know for a fact that most of their kids are only playing for Banyule because they aren't good enough to be at Heidelberg.

So Crazy, was the ex president held responsible for the unbelievably bad recruiting that you alluded too ?
And 20 year olds playing in one of the worst sides in third division, Please

South Morang and St Marys also have a lot of 20 year olds running around and seem to be doing okay...

Got a great mix of youth and experience, strength, pace and forward potency
Agreed^ from what I've seen up to this point, Epping are the best side in the comp.

That doesn't mean they can't be beaten but it'll take a mighty effort especially with the hurt from last years flag loss spurring them on..

can't wait for this next month or so of footy to see how it all plays out

2 massive games this week for Division 3
Who finishes on top and who finishes 4th will be decided
Who is everyone tipping
Epping v Watsonia
South morang v st Mary's

Epping at home by 5
South Morang to come out real hard and try to rough up the boys from burra and get home by 11

Brilliant from Watsy yesterday they are disciplined well drilled outfit. There coach is outstanding and has done a brilliant job with that team. Is it time to start talking about them in the premiership convo?

Interesting to see that 2 teams from weekend who will possibly play finals have dobbed in each other's players to the tribunal

Obviously not travelling to well.

Not ideal but as long as the front door stays open you're half a chance, once it closes it would be pretty hard to "buy" back into the local footy scene these days. Had an SMS last night from a guy I coached at Kilmore in 2012 asking what is happening .... my response.

"Not much has changed pal, too many find it easier to blame others for their own shortcomings rather than dig in and work. I feel for the guys like Goudge, Thick, Snaithy etc who have rode this thing out for 4-5 years now. Far too many guys continue to drive outa town for their footy fix, all having an effect on the club in their absence and probably don't realise it. All seem to know what's wrong but none willing to be that magnet or leader to start bringing them back."

Here's hoping Saturday they can (1.) muster up 3 teams, (2.) be more competitive and (3.) unite and support a local families NBCF "Pink Ribbon" Fundraiser, as that's what we do (or meant to do) in small communities .... dig in and support one another in tough times.
