Thommo, Douglas and Mackay don't feel pressureI actually don't remember the last time, where there was this much pressure on our afl players from the reserves!!
Yea, more platitudes from the coach about pressure for selection being immense due to SANFL performances...Thommo, Douglas and Mackay don't feel pressure
Or Doedee replaces Thommo

Yep, it's a ridiculous suggestion. After playing defence all year and Wigg midfield all year, we are now going to replace Thommo with Doedee.Surely he'll spend a couple of years in defence before transitioning to the midfield. Thommo will be gone a good year or two before Doedee has a run through the midfield. Let's not forget that he didn't have a preseason to speak of this year.
Oh and I don't know what we ever saw in Gore. He just doesn't look afl worthy.
Chances of one of the top ups being rookied?
I didn't make it, but let me know next time, we'll catch up and have a beer at the inaugural 'WW and Vader are always right fan club' meeting
And I'd love those changes; Wigg in the mix as well as an in, but two of those three in for Dmack and Douglas would improve us as a side, I have no doubt.
South Aussie kid who muddied the waters nicely. Some on this board had him in their best 22 predictions. Having said that, he looked ok at times during the preseason games, so not writing him off completely yet.
His footy seems to have gone backwards since last year, has played okay at times this year, but never looked close to a game, where the feeling was the only thing that stopped him getting games last year was injury. Would want to have a pretty good preseason this year, otherwise he won't last long.

Geelong's VFL side wasn't exactly on the pace. Injury ravaged was a description that I read. I do find him a bit interesting, had a couple of outstanding attributes at draft camp, but went in the 50's. Attitude and work ethic is apparently first class, so recruiters obviously though something was lacking.
Ben Stratton..... A little bit more attackingHe's not a midfielder. Won't play as a midfielder.
He's trajectory looks to be emulating the likes of an Andrew Mackie/Corey Enright/Ben Hart type player and will not become anything like Scott Thompson.
He kicked two nice goals in the last quarter yesterday (I only saw that quarter).
I don't watch the Hawks very often, so I'm struggling to picture how he plays but I'll take your word for it.

I was talking about Gore, in response to 1970!
He is a great tackler and neat kick for goal. Seems to struggle finding the ball when Wigg and Grigg in the center
West AdelaideOh.. i think you're spot on with that assessmentSurely he'll spend a couple of years in defence before transitioning to the midfield. Has someone tweeted this to the AFC? This is brilliant
Don't know about that believe his core strength, and aerobic run will determine when and if he play midfield, ie if he added a few kilos and runs top 4-5 in the trail and distance runs. They will look at alternate positions for him.Surely he'll spend a couple of years in defence before transitioning to the midfield. Hopefully he doesn't experience on-going health issues

I see him as starting as a run with on players like Fyfe and Bount. then an early Sloane type role.

Riley knight could well be the ace in the pack come finals time. Replacing mackay in the 22 is well within his reach if he can play 2 more good games in the sanfl. His game vs dogs last year was immense. Big game player.

Wigg looked good yesterday and has to get games next year or we should just trade him. It will be his 3rd year on the list and he's ready.
