So have had a really bad chest cold the past weak and today was looking at my throat to my shock I saw a white/cartilage looking wall at the back of my tongue after some research figured out this is my epiglottis, anyone else can visibly see theirs?
I saw mine on a street corner hanging out with some ruffians

Any softening or whatever won't survive the barage of dirt the Clinton campaign will dump on the Trump. He's already seen as erratic, kind of sexist, kind of racist by everybody. So any scandal magnifies that - right now he looks like a mega creep.

The clear difference between him and Hillary is that Hillary is seen as competent. Sure, she's establishment as heck and a warmongerer or whatever but every President is. She doesn't notably chop and change stances. She isn't a loose cannon.

There's a shit load between Trump and Hillary when it comes to public perception and that shows in the polls.

I agree, Hillary appears competent, she may also literally be mentally ill (the tell is in her cross eye movements potentially suggesting something neurological).

In all this time, the Clinton campaign has made about 2 things stick: 1) Trump is scary (he's unstable, not to be trusted with nuclear codes, he's the next Hitler and so on) and 2) he's racist.

Trump has spent a great deal of energy limiting the impact of 1) but hasn't had much success with 2). Has Trump done anything recently to reinforce that he's a loose cannon? As the black vote tends to go to democrats it's not such a big deal he hasn't turned them around. The root cause of racist claims is for something many landlords were doing back in the day and which was settled out of court with no charges laid. You may have noticed the biggest knocks on Trump have come from events 10+ years ago. People change and mature with time right? Do you think you're a nicer person now than 10 years ago?

Trump has changed his stances to be more in line with public opinion suggesting he's actually listening to the people more so than the party. The Clintons obviously want you to believe he flip flops like Mayor Quimby.

If the argument is that the difference between Trump and Clinton shows in the polls, I suggest you look closely at the polls. Trump is far too close for comfort. Judging by the perceptions of Trump, he should be well behind but he isn't. There may be some breathing space after this scandal but it may only be temporary. Trump has game, he's the top news item good or bad and he knows what he's doing.

The Brexit vote shows you can not under estimate the size and disenchantment of the "they're taking our jerbs and our way of life" crowd.

So much this. The Western world is leaning towards the right. Heck we just voted in 4 Hanson senators.

I guess this is why they've never had a game set in Australia before.

After edgie posted that Death Wish 3 clip, I decided to download all five of them.
I haven't seen the first three in 10 years. Never seen four, didn't even know there was a fifth.
How much shit luck can a guy have?

I've been ignoring the Trump stuff but just heard the old snippet from the Howard Stern thing.. Fair Dinkum Stern is a filthy turd in life's punchbowl as well

There is actually a Stern biopic. Society. 'Tis lost.

Stop after three. One and two have a gritty sorta basis in reality, almost more thriller than action. Three explodes it to the stratosphere in a way that 4 and 5 struggle to live up to.

You're right though, if only Charles Bronson went celibate none of this would have happened.

Yeah, I figured there was a reason I never went past the third.

I just figured by the third time, maybe he should have just stayed away from people.

Anyhow, I'll be working on a Fosters one tomorrow.
Post results. :thumbsu:

Trump suggested police should begin profiling again. CNN reported it as Trump saying police should racially profile.

Most of those 17 other things were said during the GOP race and it did stop a fair number of republicans supporting Trump. CNN would have us believe it was the video recording that was the final straw but really it's just a means to an end for republicans who already didn't want Trump as leader.

Item 3 on the list, about the Khan family, did cost him dearly with voters. It's the one clear example of Trump falling for a Clinton campaign trap and one that I don't think has been repeated since.

The top BBC news story has already changed to Trump on the attack. Really looking forward to the debate in 5 hours. Guaranteed to be fireworks IMO. Will Trump target the Clinton Foundation (donations for political favours), Bills extra marital affairs & coke habits or will there be a mystery box of revelations? Will Hillary land any meaningful blows, will she withstand the barrage of personal attacks heading her way?

Had a packet of Nando's Peri-Peri Sizzling Hot Grooves last night. There is even a warning on the back of the pack that these are very hot.

Unfortunately someone forgot to add the chili to the pack I had, could have fed them to a baby. Very disappoint. :(

Today is make or break I suspect. You can only be so resilient for so long.

Trump's ability to win the republication GOP for a start. I read something about there being a flaw in polling that allowed for the silent Trump supporters to slip through the cracks. Can't remember what it was, maybe people who had previously voted or people who said they will vote, the limited sample numbers used in the polls, maybe a combination of all 3. I don't think there's any intentional effort to deceive though.

So literally hundreds of independently run polls would all have to be making sampling errors in exactly the same way....

- I'm sorry for saying bad things about women
- I'll be an awesome president, Hillary will be a terrible president
- I'm going to be opening a can of whoop-ass on the Clintons

Uh huh. And this was "brilliant", how?

It's the sad truth unfortunately.

No, it's a ridiculous simplification. One is flawed but qualified. The other is a ludicrous demagogue. I think you've been drinking the same koolaid as the Bernie or Bust zombies.

CNN are so anti-trump it's comical.

Here is another article that endorses Hillary but also explains how Trump will (IMO) win: The Trump tape doesn't matter

I was referring to the major polls of which I don't think there are hundreds but yes, there are sampling errors. Polls can and have been wrong in the past and I believe they're off this time around because of the growing silent Trump reporter. It's bad business to publicly support Trump - we see all sorts of stories about how violent Trump supporters are but there have been several instances of Clinton supporters attacking Trump supporters.

Uh huh. And this was "brilliant", how?

1) He showed he could be humbled and apologised
2) He spoke directly to the American people and more specifically, the people who want change
3) He landed some very direct criticisms at Clinton "AND HER KIND"
4) Trump is making everyone emotional and winning the war on this front
5) Everyone loves a flawed Hero and with this video, Trump declared the end-game had begun

After the video, Trump tweeted the rape allegations against Bill and possible complicity/cover-up by Hillary. So we have an idea of what will be coming out today at the debate and for the rest of the election.

Trump is a misogynistic liar and Hillary is a crooked liar. Rational arguments don't win elections otherwise Hillary would be "50 points up".

So this prevents people from telling the truth to phone and online polls, I see...

Wow, you are extremely easy to impress.

After the video, Trump tweeted the rape allegations against Bill and possible complicity/cover-up by Hillary. So we have an idea of what will be coming out today at the debate and for the rest of the election.

Considering those allegations have been around forever didn't we already have an idea about that?

Trump is a misogynistic liar and Hillary is a crooked liar. Rational arguments don't win elections otherwise Hillary would be "50 points up".

I'm not for a moment saying rational arguments win elections, but that doesn't mean one can't or shouldn't make rational arguments when discussing elections. To place the two of them on anything even approaching an equal level of malevolence is ****ing absurd.

The Trump tape doesn't matter
Feelings are powerful. According to research, 95% of our decisions are based on subconscious factors -- like how we feel. Not logic. Not what you "know" is right. We make decisions based on what we feel in the moment.
The Trump tape doesn't matter

So your contention is that people act on how they feel in the voting booth, but they don't act on how they feel when faced with a poll on the same issue?

Righto.
