General consensus on the GC board is their 3rd rounder (Their 7th pick, 44) for Arch.

If we want their 6th Pick (30) then we'd have to give something else up.

In that case we just hang onto him for another year. Unless Arch gets us a pick in the 20s he has far more value to us on our list than anything we could get for pick 44!

Could we flip it on its head and use Brendan to lure Callum here? Or at least bluff our way through and make GC panic and give us our second rounder back?

GC have some interest in bringing in Ah Chee but not that much really. Only if they have salary cap space after all the serious trades are done. Don't bother us until the end of trade period. Could be a negotiating ploy to get him on the cheap but it probably reflects how they truly feel.

44 is probably fair. but id hold out as a pick in the 20s to early 30s probs wont even be used by them!
If he was uncontracted I would have taken 44, but getting an extra year changes it a little bit.

As someone who was pro-keeping our list together, I'm very happy with this trade period. We need to keep our depth super strong to help the development of our high draft picks otherwise face a huge crash and burn next year. We also need to make use of the spending we did for Ryder and Dixon.

We will not win a premiership with this list, the only way that can come without a MAJOR rebuild is if we nail our top draft pick in the next 3-4 years, and with a strong and steady list we give those kids the best chance to develop in the coming years. No more pick 60+ players, we need low draft picks filling our developing spots. Ollie, Chad, Polec, Austin and Impey can be built around, and we need to do that by remaining competitive and giving those kids the best environment within which to develop.

CD trying to hold on to pick 9 whilst still having some sort of influence in the trade period;

We'd already come out ahead with 14 and 17, according to the points system. Depending on who we value in this draft class, it could be a smart move
Plus the flexibility of having used 2 first rounders in one year if we want to trade one out in the future

Hahaha I think it's official now.

As far as this board is concerned Chris Davies is George Costanza.

He refused to follow Kochie into the toilet as he was explaining an important project he is to undertake and he went down to accounts to attempt to find out what the project is without Kochie finding out he wasn't listening. Kochie rocked up and was like "Have you been downtown yet Chris?" to which Davies took to mean he needed to find something on Hindley street, where he is now wandering up and down trying to find a lead.

GC - Ah Chee and PA 2017 2nd rd
PA 26 - 30
Fixes there list spot problem and gives us 2 2nd rounders
Maybe Sydney then trade 14 &17 for 9 & 26 so we end up with 14,17,30

Vardy touring WCE - they are now front runner for him according to Mitch Cleary

They have more of a need for him than us if Lobbe doesn't leave.

Rather us go for someone like Brooksby who will cost peanuts, will probably be happy to play SANFL and be back-up to Ryder, and will be fit for more than 5 games a season.

You don't just trade for the sake of doing something to keep the supporters happy. Unless it is going to be of some benefit we are better off backing in the list our club has showed so much faith in. I'm truly baffled that so many Port supporters were expecting this mass clean out this trade period.

There would have been a lot of movement, trouble is nobody wants what we are trying to sell.
