Totally understand why Blair was retained even though it was tempting to drop him. Clangers aside (major clangers admittedly) his game was pretty good.

It was more important to drop Cox and replace him with a midfielder. The two ins can both play forward (as can WHE who only played forward for part ofthe game)so at least if Blair has a stinker we can bench him...unlike last week when we had to hide Cox on the bench.

So they did pretty much exactly what I wanted, replaced cox with a goal kicking forward/mid. Thank you footy gods. I honestly think we will look a lot better going forward now.. as long as we don't bomb it long as elliot isn't there to take a screamer :D

Pretty shocked with the amount of defenders of the Blair selection on here.
How can we lose one player to suspension and suddenly don't have enough depth to replace him and Blair?
That alone is mismanagement at the highest level.
So we now start the game as minus 12.

I'd run him with Martin in the midfield too. Adams to Prestia. Pendles to Cotchin. Treloar to roam free..
Agree with Crisp to Martin. But not run Adams & Pendles with Prestia & Cotchin.

If Crisp could keep Martin relatively quiet(modest 25 disposal game without dominance should be the goal these days), then its the rest of our mids against the rest of theres, and we should win that battle.

maggie, we all see things differently.

to me mayne was ok, played his role. blair just fcked things up and whilst I acknowledge his effort it isn't enough anymore.
Yep we do all see things differently.
Blair made some basic errors but Mayne was no better, he is no rookie, 174 game player.
Think both need to step up to keep their spot.

That 22 wouldn't have a hope in hell against Sydney but it's probably the right side to pick given the conditions and who we are playing.

Bucks got spooked by the way the Dogs, the best rebounding team in the AFL, ran it out of our forward line, so he drops Cox. I get it, but where's the fault on the actual so called defensive forwards who let the ball out too.

Oh well, it is what it is, no excuses, if we lose tomorrow night it's not because of selection, or coaching, it will come down to effort.

4 quarters of consistent effort like we have against the Dogs and we win this, regardless of conditions of the final 22.

Bux should read BF.
We were howling, well some of us were, about Cox and his lack of speed.
No surprise here that we were not good at locking it in.

I do feel a bit for Bux, he has been lumbered with this project by the admin. Now it's up to him to make it work.

2 weeks into the AFL season and we still havent updated player pictures for the app and i assume website, I guess asking for a team selector is too much if they cant even update players pictures
Yes, very ordinary for the so called biggest sporting club in Australia with an $80 Million turnover.
Can't even keep our Website up to date.
I could do a better job.

I read somewhere that part of the clubs attraction with mayne was his high footy iq, which is not something tangible that we can see.

Not looking good for Dunn if he cant get a game over Schade. Blair has had the luckiest career in the AFL.

Hopefully Broomhead can finally show that he will be a quality player in the 22.

I would much prefer someone that can, kick, run, mark, defend, tackle and kick multiple goals than a high IQ.:)

Whilst it's not an excuse, its worse than an 80 mill business.
The AFL has control with the player pics used.
I asked, apparantly that's the answer

If a player like Blair is still making clangers after 150 odd games I don't understand the rationale for keeping him. Meanwhile Cox, who made no clangers and has only 20 games to his credit loses his spot. Reminds me of the national cricket team which still selects the Marsh brothers despite all the evidence that they can't play. At some point the penny will drop and the coach might find he doesn't have a job, not because he can't coach, but because he keeps choosing the wrong players.

There is your answer. It's up to Blair now to make up for last week. The side we have picked looks well balanced.
Blair make up for last week? What about last year? The year before? How many chances do we give the slow, useless little man? Thank God this is a TV game because I would not be going to the MCG to watch him **** up again. He will be as pitiful in his performance as he was last week.

And Cox out as well! Great selections Collingwood!
