No see thats just being silly, its just from what i have heard we have not yet offered him a sure deal, its just what i have been told, as always i could be wrong, i just back in what i get told

Not having a go mate, just to say the Saints arent smart enough to offer a deal sounds suss.

I reckon if you are hearing whispers, our recruiting dept are hearing shouts.

Maybe not smart enough is in the Kelly camp eyes who want us to match Norths silly time frame of 9 years. Or maybe they have eyes and commitment elsewhere.

I dont think they are dumb in trade deals and their track record would back that up.

on daniel chick, his issues were there before he joined west coast... remember <injuction>? he then contributed to the problems wce had. see my other post on the type of bloke you are dealing with. you think andrew embley goes toe to toe with daniel chick because he's a good bloke, team mate and club man? hell no! he was forced to act because daniel chick's an absolute **** wit dragging others down with him

That's the caliber of player we need to be talking now, I don't want another meh 20 possession Sharrod Wellingham soft **** player. Only quality now or go to the draft and nail some picks.

Agreed. We need to add absolute star power or we run the risk of being a touch vanilla. I would happily see all 3 of our firsts go for those 2. Of course, the preference would be fyfe as a FA, jelly for this and next year's first (with maybe a little coming back or Whitfield thrown in too) and take hawks first to the draft

Now that would be the cream on top of the solid squad we've put together.

Plus a gun 1st rounder in the draft assuming we pay 2017 and 2018 1st for Kelly with a 2nd back a la Treloar deal

Do you remember the media going mental at us trading him.
" what were they thinking, their future captain" etc etc. He was very good for the Hawks in their premiership years, but he wasn't a loss for us. In fact it was very much a win/win.

If his preference is to play for the saints but it's looking more likely he'll stay it means the saints aren't willing to pony up a satisfactory offer.

Surely they have to turn over players and obviously guys like Mohr will get pushed out but then even then some of those guys will want opportunity. Hopper the obvious one who should be a walk up but any of last years crop should be being talked to.
