Fan activation, capital attraction, and sports education are the three pillars of PAFC’s China strategy.
Port Adelaide sees this match as the starting point of a long and fruitful partnership between the AFL and China. PAFC will present the AFL commission in the next couple of months, outlining a five-year view on China,

Finding all the comments about dust and smog amusing. This is looking from the front of our office a few weeks ago.

Good simple synopsis of our China strategy

Pity the average Tinlge Supporter and or AFL Media Personality can't get their head around it

The China Business Conference is telling me exactly why we are doing what we are doing. It's all about 5 year plans, 3-8-3, the 4 "uns" and basically a compete reform of the Chinese economy going from producers to consumers and the government backing the development of kids playing any form of sport at least once a week.

If we have become backed partners with the Chinese government in this...you can pretty much write your own cheque.

"All of us always say we have the greatest game in the world, so why don't we showcase it? Why are we scared to take it outside of Australia? That's what I can't figure. Do we just want to be so insular that we keep it in Australia? We are building trade bridges, we are building diplomatic bridges. This is AFL becoming an exporter.”
"To grow a financial base of a club traditionally is all about, it seems to be, buying pubs or pokies or whatever. We think that is a really old-fashioned model and there is a new age of doing sport.

"Our jumper is not for sale", get ******.

While the two clubs are appearing amicable for the good of the game at present there's not a snowballs chance in hell we will ever play Gold Coast in China again.

Imagine how hard they'd go if it wasn't the worst guernsey in the league that has never been worn in a final.

I don't know if anyone has posted this yet but it popped up on my Facebook. Great stuff

Good read.

"I got called a wharfie at school."

I didn't start getting called "Wharfie" until I was an adult. :)

"I won’t be in China, but I’ve dusted off a Russell Ebert Four Medal Port to celebrate Port playing its first overseas match for premiership points in 147 years."

I've still got a couple of bottles of that so might have to do the same. :drunk:

From the CEO: The moment is here

"Dear members and supporters,

This is it. The big one.

Port Adelaide takes Australia’s game, to a new frontier: China. ..."

Reading this makes me realise even more what this amazing achievement and opportunity means to our club and supporters.

Eat s**t and die haters. We Are Port Adelaide!
