How a loaf of bread can sit on the bench for a week and not develop mould.

Though it is the Coles cheapo brand
Wish I was that lucky. When I buy the cheap brand its mouldy within 5 days.

Why would anyone want to eat 5 day old bread?

I don't want to but it takes me more than five days to eat a whole loaf! Usually end up freezing some of it but there is nothing quite like fresh bread, bread straight out of the freezer, although still 'fresh', is not the same.

Business opportunity right there.
I do occasionally buy the small loaf from Bakers Delight which gives me 11 thick slices. But that's down the other end of Colonnades to Coles. Ironically the 11 slice goes mouldy after 3 days

Media/ society going after people of late for having cocaine on them. If you read the article you see that its such a small amount the ridiculousness of the situation is seen. Its .5 grams, 1 grams its hardly going to set the world on fire. Let the people rip lines and have a bit of fun causing no issues and target the issues that matter.

Coles used to sell these. Don't know if they still do.
