What's everyone's thoughts on Tippett to freo? If swans play half his salary, think he could be a great in. Was great before buddy went to Sydney. Could take the pressure off McCarthy & kerstin too.

I would prefer Sam Reid.

I think he's a good player when fit. He's played every game this year and has better statistics than both McCarthy and Kersten this season. Flexible enough to relief in the ruck and is only 25. I like the idea of a forward line of Reid, McCarthy and Kersten with Tabs playing a forward flank/wing free role like Riewoldt at St Kilda. If we can't get Mitch McGovern, he's the one i'd look at as a FA. I can't see any other KPF that would want to come to us.

I rate Tom Boyd streets ahead, given his potential as well on that Grand final last year. Plus he's only 21-22. The fact that we sent our #1 defender to play on their resting ruckman doesn't mean anything to you obviously, which means you missed the entire point of the article I posted above.

It is not a bad thought, his age surprised me.

We have Fyfe, Walters, Neale, McCarthy, Hill x2 all roughly 24-27, we need to target more players in this age group or younger.

We should not bring in anyone older than 27.

Luke Bruest is between Shill and Fyfe in age. If (_if_) Balic wants to go home, Hawks could get a young midfielder who will probs play 200 games for a guy that won't be in their next premiership team. And we could get a proven big game goal kicker who could help us get to our first.

Bruest is contracted and would demand a late first rounder if he requested a trade.

Balic is maybe worth a late second based on potential / however he is uncontracted and therefor likely worth a third MAYBE even a forth based on the fact he could just go into the PSD.

Probably one that has been told by his manager that he is not fielding offers from other clubs at the moment. All this grand standing in the media is amazing by the clubs. I appreciate the way our club goes about it's recruitment business more and more with the way the media carries on.

Can't say I blame them. Kelly is elite in every way, younger and will cost a bit less. If Fyfe doesn't recapture some form he showed pre injury, he isn't worth $1.5mil.

Tippett was the best ruck/forward in the league. That article is two years old.
I agree with you that he has shown a lot more than Vickery (which is why quoting an old article is a fair reply), but his value has declined with his injuries and form.
Same situation for Sam Reid really, but I would still try to get him to Fremantle.

instead of matera i would rather wait a year and try and go after fasolo. He would be a great player in purple and he is still young.

Genuine potato up until this year and will be 26 come next season. Sure if he's basically free you take it but at this stage i'd rather keep the picks. Not that we even have a 2nd which is about where he'd fall value wise if he ends up having a 40-50 goal season. I'd rather draft a small forward and try Deluca in the role for a bit.
