If you were a team mate of Lever and McGovern would it matter if they were leaving? Would it change the vibe in the dressing room or the mood of the team?
Be fantastic, because you know the cash would get shared around ;)

Dangerfield leaving makes it look so easy for others to do the same
This is exactly right.

*If* we'd kept Dangerfield all of a sudden Tippett would have been 5 years ago. Ancient history and our big interstate names signed. The stigma would have gone.

Instead we lost him and the reputation has been perpetuated. And now things seem to be worsening if anything.

You could understand Davis, Gunston leaving in our late-Craig rabble years but now we're flying and can offer regular finals football and a stable environment. And it's still not enough

Especially now he's a much better footballer than when he played for us.

Looking back, did he even give a shit in the last couple of years?

I just don't get it. From the outside in it looks to be a great place to be.

Decent facilities, play to sold out crowds at AO, financially strong club, top side and looking to have a period of success and these ****s still want to go, WTF!!!

Are we stingy?
Do they not respect the admin?
Do they hate the coaches?
Are the players not close?
Is it a stale place?

Or are we just unlucky over and over?

WTF is going on?

The Geelong board his improvement largely down to Chris Scott's outstanding coaching, and good club general development programs. Oh, and also that Adelaide are rubbish.

Take the Geelong board with a pinch of salt. Depending where the posters are in their Ice habit they can post all over the shop.

Yeah .. I probably should have put a few emoji's at the end of that post .. :thumbsu:

Rest Talia, put Lever on Kennedy for the game this week.

Hi,
This is a very good idea. Please advise Don Pyke and AFC Match Committee in due course (prior to 2.40pm WST, Sunday 27 August 2017). Your assistance will be most appreciated :)
Thanks,
JJK

Honestly these days I think it's just a case of money talks. Our club knows that the supporters are demanding premierships, and paying Lever and Gov the amounts that are being thrown around will hurt us 3- 4 years down the track. It's not like it was 10-20 years ago, where players lived and breathed the club's they played for. Out of our entire squad, the only one, that I think that couldn't be swayed to leave for any amount of money is Tex, and I think that's why he was made captain ahead of everyone else. It's disappointing and bloody frustrating though!

“We remain in constant dialogue with (Adelaide list manager) Justin Reid,” said Guy in his only comment on Lever’s contract talks.

For a player leaving, that's odd, at this late stage in the season.

Dangerfield froze Adelaide's list management out.
Depends what the dialogue is about.

Could be about preferred trade destination.

Hopefully most of us have read this all wrong...

Well we have to wait and see how it pans out, but if it does occur that all three players leave then there need to serious questions asked about what is going on at the club.

See how many are still mates with Davis and Gunston.

I honestly think for most it is no big deal.

I wonder if it is a generational thing.
Many of the younger players are big NBA fans and they see players moving everywhere there and think that that is just how it is?

It has been the big difference all along between Jake and Danger.
Danger *never* talked about negotiating with the club. It's about the only small hope to cling to.

Should we veto any fans of US sports during the draft interview process?

Yes, it gives a whole new meaning to the "fly" in "We fly as one". :)
