Traded Bryce Gibbs [traded to Adelaide] - (cont. in Part 2)

Adelaide's problem wasnt their midfield today, They had enough quality ball but their structure and personal were wrong

Their foward line didnt fire a shot Jenkins,Lynch,Betts, walker & Cameron were all extremely quite and didnt fire a shot but they did have ample supply .

Backline was way too big and not mobile enough to get the ball moving out,Smith and Gov would have made a massive difference but still too big and needed more mobile backs.

Richmond has done exactly the same thing to all 3 finalist we faced and all were top 4 teams, Tiger players are electric quick with massive tanks and run over the teams in the 3rd & 4th quaters - David King went on about it and is absolutely correct

Game will change again and 2018 will see more runners that can run all day - Gibbs wouldnt have changed the result

Crows lost the contested footy count by 30, 25 in the 2nd half.

That was telling as was their poor goal conversion. Not kicking a goal in the 2nd or 3rd quarters its game over.

Hats off to the Tigers, they just didn't let the Crows play their brand of football on the day.

Yep excellent analysis. Our supporters have been continually down on Bevo for playing small last year- until it started to work! It's all about getting to the contest first- the days of the the big marking lumbering forward and defender was gone a long time ago.

Not sure guys like Gibbs would be that useful- they need someone quicker.

Wow, a run with role? We are talking about the sole reason the Crows lost the flag aren't we?

We're talking about Gibbs, I'm not really into the whole salt in the wounds thing. He performs well in big games, what happens in trade week discussions has nothing to do with me. Some people don't rate Gibbs highly at all, which is where the value discrepancy begins.

Gibbs in the forward line would have been very hard to match up.
His skill isobvious, beautiful kick & Footy IQ he's a natural play maker and can hurt opposition score board. Bryce oozes class and if given a realistic workload in a stronger side just watch him go.

Gallucci and whoever the Crows draft with their first rounder, were good today for them today.

Unbelievable. Show some class and some maturity mate.

Didn't you lose by five goals to Richmond this year, BEFORE they really started playing well?

Gibbs getting a kick against a shitter Richmond side way back in the past is meaningless.

Gibbs played a great game though. 26 disposals, 7 clearances (Martin had 6, only Cotchin had more on 8), 6 tackles, and a snag roll.

He wasnt the reason we lost. Nice try though :thumbsu:

Until yesterday I doubt that the Cows would have made a bid on him this year. The talk in Adelaide is that the Crouch brothers had improved so much that they had the best midfield in comp. Now that arrogant little illusion is gone I expect the trade to happen more because Carlton have got a target in mind where they'll need the pick.

I still don't believe Gibbs is leaving, he'd make no difference to yesterday. Or next year.

The point remains. The Crows broke down around the middle and half forward and lacked any decent disposal inside F50. Crouch had 37 disposals (mainly contested) but had no one on the outside to get the ball to.

Galluccis only contribution on the day, was competing in the halftime Sprint.

Which the Tigers also won.

You've been heavily critical of Carlton supporters, SOS and our list management in an incredibly blinkered and subjective fashion for some time. Yet you wonder why this board is stuffed. Righto.

Before you carry on any more with your Gibbs dribble, a pertinent fact wouldn't go astray, the break up on Matt Crouch's disposals was 12 contested and 23 uncontested and the 5th most metres gained of both team's players [414m]. And Carlton's contribution on Grand Final Day as usual was a big fat zero. Gibbs' contribution to Grand Final Day was attending a "Family Day" at Mars Stadium Ballarat as a special guest hosting the Auskick kids and signing autographs...

When the biggest troll complains about trolling lmao

I hope Gibbs stays. He is a gun who will play until he is 35. If Adelaide want a player with two more years on a contract then pay up or shut up. Your blue collar midfield and 'organic growth' should work wonders
