Make no mistake, Rockliff strengthens us significantly. What's missed a bit is that he is quite an effective resting forward. I've seen him take marks one-out near the goal square fairly often over the past two years. By no means is he a one trick clearance pony.

Forwards who can hit the target and push up the ground and mids that can rest forward and kick goals. We Port supporters won’t know what we’re watching next year. Brisbane have pretty much said they won’t stand in his way and said if he wants to leave they more than likely won’t match it because they’ll get a 1st round compo pick I think it was the gm or list manager on trade radio yesterday. They asked him to name a club by Friday so they could get the ball roling

Look Rocky is a decent player, loves the contested ball and is a decent clearance player.

I guess we see how it plays out

You never know if these things will turn out for the better. We need a genuine inside mid, it’s a key area we fell away in late in the season. Wines was great but he carried too much of the load. Ebert has a ceiling as far as inside work goes. Also, bringing in a genuine inside mid means we’re far less likely to overload our defence. Rockliff is exactly the player we need for the midfield, landing him is rightly priority 1.

Now onto Motlop as next major priority.
