Make it a month (October) but tone down the media frenzy. Make it a window like in Soccer.

95% of Trade Week Radio is rubbish and ads. It really is not needed.

I think it's either got to start the Monday after GF and run right up until the draft, or run for a week. Nothing in between. They did the month long trade period, it was terrible, 1x trade in the first 2 weeks IIRC.

Unfortunately the AFL likes the exposure and media circus, so it won't change.

The want for exposure and the circus is the issue.

The reality is this process is all done behind closed doors and is not really a spectacle you can watch.

Does Barrett always have to drag out certain words when he speaks?

i.e. 'the late traaadddeee', 'tuh-daaaayyyyy', 'sit-uuaaaaation'

I can't see that we would have played either of these guys this year IMO. Don almost always goes for older players to pick from (Keith, Greenwood, McKay, Seed, Beech over Wigg, Doedee, Galucci, Polholke)

To his credit Don at least got quite a few games into Milera as a rookie and also this year, but yeah, in general it just seems to be the way the club has run things since the Ayres days.

It seems an eternity since Riccuito started as a pimply 17 year old in 1993 and was never left out of the side apart from injury, or Goodwin who as a rookie who played maybe 8 games before the 1997 Grand Final. For some reason we don't seem to be as willing to back the first year players like that, or at least like some other teams do now.

Well I am another one of those wondering if we really know what we are doing or trying to be too smart.
These are the questions I am wondering.
1 -- What are we really doing re Gibbs as if he does not want a trade why hasn't he come out and said I am staying.
Are we trying to be too clever here making out we don't want or what the hell is happening.
2. -- Regarding Cameron lets stop messing around get first any first and p---s him off.
Really annoyed if this over rated player and insecure person ever plays for us again.
3. -- Understand waiting to get all the picks re securing Francis but also get it done as really worth a small gamble in getting as the upside worth more than low 1st or 2nbd and pick we will get.

4-- Obviously unaware who club looking at but with CC going think Miller from GC would be another that will give us that run at less than half the price of Cats reject.

5 -- Like to see at low pick value picking up a ball magnet ,contested player like Miles of Tigers .

I like the way Sydney have done it by having 2 or 3 rookies in their team as well great experience. Heeney, Mills, Aliir, Florent, Hayward all top round picks like we have. Istead, we play Otten, McKay, Beech, Keith when we could have played Gauc et al

Just a guess on my part, but perhaps the increased professionalism over time in the AFL has placed greater demands on players in terms of physical preparation and understanding of gameplan that most young draftees are incapable of meeting.

Miller's not coming to Adelaide. Can we stop thinking that players actually would be interested in nominating the AFC as a club they want to play at. Hasn't happened since Seed.

Beech and Keith were rookies.

There is a real need to push this idea that we are running out of time ... the media guys need urgency coz they don't have anything else :)

We are basically at the start of the real trade week. Things will move along in the next few days - but...

A LOT OF IT WILL GET DONE ON THURSDAY ARVO !!!
Ok "Out of town Crow", you gave me a slight troll earlier about my negativity ;) kudos. To be truthful I probably haven't posted anything positive since the GF, but seriously what do 'think' will be the outcome
for the Crows come Thursday arvo.
Here's what I think will happen.
No Gibbs; price will be too high again and we'll say no.
No Francis. Essendon will ask too much and we'll say no.
Cameron, I'm not sure but I suspect we'll settle for 18/19, but it wouldn't surprise me if we said no, kept him and he played like crap next year then we lose him anyway for far less. We'll take those picks to the draft and come out with the
"Organic growth" line again. I hope I'm wrong but to quote every Star Wars film "I've got a bad feeling about this."
