Not sure if this has been mentioned yet but there are now only 12 players remaining on our list from our wooden spoon year only two years ago before SOS took over.

Murphy, Kreuzer, Cripps, Docherty, Casboult, Jones, Graham, Simpson, Rowe, Byrne, Thomas and Curnow.

SOS has truly gutted this list to its bare foundations in order to create his masterpiece, a remarkable job from the great man.

On the demise of MM, with 3 years of random drafting, except for the disastrous 2014 trading/draft pointedly designed to save MM's job, it was clear that apart from Cripps, every other player on the list was tradeable or, if not, disposable in any sensible rebuild.

We have in the main received good value from our trades and there is no one we have delisted that I regret letting go (however much I regret the player didn't make it). This was not the case in the past, I was filthy in particular that Laidler walked.

Of the players we have kept all of them (except Daisy) have a continuing value to us in our search for a flag. I do not believe any argument needs to be made for the retention of Murphy, Kreuzer, Docherty, Caz, Jones, Simpson, Byrne or Ed, each of whom I would love to play 25/26 games for us next year.

Graham has not done enough to be in our best 22 next year and any hopes he might improve to become a certain first's player have long dimmed. Nevertheless there is a place for him on the list as an experienced back-up mid. He is not a good centre clearance winner but he tackles well. He is saved by the fact that we have already lost 13 on the list and keeping some continuity, particularly someone in his age bracket, has list-building advantages.

I do not know the ins and outs of the decision to keep Daisy. The statement by Daisy early in the season to not hold us to the trigger clause enabling him to be picked or dropped in 2017 without controversy was very good for the Club. The speculation would have been damaging to the Club's image as a destination. On merit Daisy should have been delisted as there should be no place for him in the senior side in 2018, almost irrespective of injuries. The other factors that saw him get a 1 year extension? Who am I to judge?

Finally, whilst I agree with you SOS has done a terrific job in the rebuild thus far, I am not quite ready to now call the result a masterpiece, let alone it being his. I will wait until the object of the exercise is achieved (having a flag-winning side), and then there will be plenty of backs to slap when that happens. Though no doubt it is unlikely SOS's contribution would be forgotten.

Cain Ackland did almost exactly nothing right.

Worst player I have seen play for Carlton

He can't have been that bad, he does have a highlight video...

Absolute rubbish boek is only 24 Daisy 30 and all busted up, Daisy having played in a premiership 7 years ago is irrelevant to us, now he is merely a shadow of what he was.
You have been fed the "role model, professional" garbage only due to the fact Malthouse lumped us with this dud for 4 years on Dangerfield money and we were stuck with him!
We are only giving Daisy another year because even he realised what a SHOCKING deal it was for the Carlton football club, he gets 1 year extra because he has a conscious nothing more.
Nothing more than 4 years of a waste of space.
Daisy-role model, professional = turd polishing.

You're feisty.

If SOS ****ing gave Daisy a 1 year contract and didn't give Boek a 1 year contract, that's enough for me.

It all comes back to one simple answer; We didn't have any 'one' managing our list.

The keys to the city were just passed around to whoever the newbie was and maybe to who made the most noise.
In that time we had Malthouse, Swann, McKay and Rogers posturing to get their way. Silly.....so silly.

Explain his new contract.

I was the one who got threatened by that poster, you should get your facts right before you criticise me

If a poster makes a personal attack for no reason, then I'm definitely allowed to defend myself. This is what happens in the real world

How were you threatened - ('I'm coming for you in an aggressive font - possibly bolded')
You misinterpreted the said post and the poster.

If you have been around these parts long enough you will know that is how the said poster rolls with tongue in cheek comments.
No harm or malice intended at all.

If he’s getting picked at 73 first in the draft then the only risk he should be worried about is getting the next contract and being thankful it happened
He knows the Eagles or Dockers will pick him whether that's a rookie pick or in the national draft.

I didn't say it was a masterpiece yet :p

I'm under no illusion that we have a long way to go. Even though they said a 66 game rebuild I'm thinking it could be more like an 88 game rebuild, two more successful off seasons and two more seasons of drilling the game plan and professional standards into the players. Then our assault on the premiership begins.

Currently on 286 games.

Without any doubt, Simmo has been my favorite Carlton player of the past decade.

He is courageous, consistent, reliable and completely loyal to our jumper.

He should have been captain for the past five years at a bare minimum.

The least the club can do is ensure he gets to 300 games, although it is high unlikely that he won't get to the 300 on merit alone.

Simmo = Gun

Would be due for his 300th in Rnd 15 next year against Port which is our home game at the MCG. We have a bye in Rnd 12.

We play Collingwood the week before but it's their home game.

Billy Smedts did not have a contract for next year.

Opening paragraph on Carlton site states that none of the delisted players would be offered a contract beyond 2017.
Smedts did what he had to - got a first rounder from Geelong and built up some goodwill.

I'm not too familiar with Mullett. Why was he delisted, injury problems?

To be honest, I didn't think we'd be trying to get any more defenders.

On the Weitering training video on the club website there is a blonde hair guy standing next to Weiters at 0.37 mark. I thought it might be Kerr but don't think so. Anyone know who he is?
