Why the eye roll? You said adults wear pants, you never specified anything about work.

Summer is for wearing shorts, so obviously I'm going to wear them on a 40 degree day unless etiquette dictates otherwise. You don't get to wear shorts to a wedding because it's hot. IF you're going for a night out or something then you wear pants, it's what adults do.

You never mentioned any of that in your original point. I am sorry I couldn't read your mind to find out what the actual point of your post was. I'll try a bit harder next time.

People who wear shorts year round.

1. How are you not cold?
2. Grown ups wear pants.

Absolutely no idea why some people wear shorts during winter. granted Perth's winters are not as harsh as northern europe, but its still too cold most of the time to not be wearing long pants.

And I think you'll find 90% of Australian men never mature, fashion wise, from the age of 12 and think that quiksilver boardies and thongs are acceptable casualwear.

It's a bit sad when you see a girl all dressed up* and her boyfriend is wearing shorts and Oakley sunnies.

*appropriately, if you're spending 3 hours getting hair, nails, outfit ready for a beach BBQ then that's silly.

yes, I agree with both points.

It doesn't take much effort or money to not look slovenly.

I just wonder what goes through people's heads when they plan to go out for a nice dinner etc. then wear shorts.

I guess some people just have no awareness of being over/under dressed, or don't care.
Not caring is fun too should try it sometimes.

If the place you're going doesn't get uptight about dress code why should you

My old man will put a jumper on before pants, I've only seen him in pants at weddings and funerals in the last 10 years

Apparently he was on holidays somewhere where the wind and snow was bad enough he had to put pants on for warmth but mm didn't take photos so I think she's just trying to make him seem normal

Air conditioning

I'm jest saying

I hate air conditioning. I have it in my house but never use it. I find it funny how people at work on hot days have the ac set to arctic conditions but then wear a jacket.

Ditto. Have a mate who lives in an apartment that's essentially a supermarket cool room that complains my house is hot.

It's Summer, it's normal for the house to not be 14 degrees.

I have a jumper that I keep at work because the office is that flipping cold that I'm shivering. It's centrally controlled so can't be turned down to suit different areas.

Used to open the window a smidgen to try and equalise it but some flipping greenie complained about it

I like it cool in my house even if it's 40 out.

I like to be comfortable. Right now it's 21 outside and there's a nice breeze blowing so I have the windows open. If I shut all the windows and blasted the A/C full bore I'd need a jumper and that's nuts. Some people need it to be 16 degrees 24/7 year round.

The halfwits at the old man's hospital home I've seen have the air con set to 18 degrees and it's ****in freezing. And people with dementia are sensitive to cold. Their solution is to put a blanket on them

If I catch anyone doing it again this summer they are gonna cop a spray. You are here to work for residents, couldn't care less about you ideal comfort.

Naturally I was using air conditioning to make a point

Personally I often find air conditioning set way too high

I get cold doing the shopping in the middle of summer
