If you honestly think that a pissed up 20 year old may or may not have pinched a girl on the arse deserves to be the lead story on the 6 o clock news for 3 days straight, you really shouldn't leave the house.

Elspeth, despite not being a sport or football journalist, consistently seems to be the reporter leading the charge in any negative Port Adelaide story. Her paid association with the Adelaide Football club does put into question her motives.

Meanwhile Slammer posting on the Bay takes the old "back in my day" argument that because it was ok back then, what happens now should be judged on those standards.

At the end of the day... who reports what is completely irrelevant... everyone saw the footage of the state SPP was in stumbling around like a drunk teenager. The club and the leadership team saw it and has dealt with this.

The media reported it... the club has sanctioned him and are, with the AFL, investigating further incidents that may or may not have occurred on the night. When the outcome of these investigations conclude and the AFL/port release their findings the media will once again report on it. Basic fact of life.

Stop trying to muddy the waters and make the entire thing all about the media. All you’re doing is making yourself look like a complete fool.

We have the stereotypical older supporter base. Yet this SPP issue really has highlighted the fact the average Tealster is more likely to be an aging male who hit his prime in the mid 80s and still thinks the shenanigans of Benny Hill are perfectly fine in 2018.

Alright... maybe I shouldn’t have used the tank word... but essentially all I am saying is come the bye in the middle of the season if things look grim.... maybe we just start getting afl games into guys like poholke, Davis, gooch, ROB, Wilson, jarman, Himmelberg etc etc... and if I’m doing so we lose a few games so be it... atleast they’ll get some experience into these lads.

The reason we’re currently struggling is because so many of our best players are out injured or playing injured or underdone and we’ve got no guys with afl experience to cover them with.. this won’t change next year unless we find some afl game time for these younger lads this bloody year.

tanking - or whatever moniker you choose to give it to make it appear more palatable - is the professional sports version of negging.
it has no place in any self-respecting football club.

and anyway, one could argue that giving experience to young lads in a 'development' (read: losing) culture / environment is counter-productive.
just ask the mfc circa 2012.
