Fairly sure it was about 500k we offered. Lever will never be able to live up to his price tag and it will take money off of team mates who are more deserving.

Lever asked Adelaide to match the Dees offer.
It's on the public record by his manager.
Crows said no as would mean he would be our highest paid player.

If you read the thread on the decision, there was a mixed reaction on this one. There were plenty on either side of the decision. Many thought it was petty.

I'm willing to admit I'm salty about losing Cameron and Lyons the year before. Lever though?

I have no issue with what the Dees offered. You made it attractive for him to move clubs, he got back to his home state & were more than fair compensating the Crows with draft picks.
He will be a good player for the Dees once he settles in.

Jakey does a piece telling everyone he's deleting twitter. There's the problem right there, just delete it mate, no need to have a story written about it. We know the online world is full of whack jobs. I'm surprised any footballer has it, Tex opens himself up with some god-awful shiton that platform. Rucci and Kornes just block any dissenters to their opinion. Don't use it if really understand the need for it, but I did like the little kid using it in that delightful movie, Chef.
Success and home are the only reasons anyone moves. But they all have to soruik opportunity of success otherwise it's a backhander to his new teammates. Even Sloane going to the Blues would be, "excited about their plan, have great youth coming through, really well coached, great leadership group, building nicely and I'm excited to be able to climb up the ladder with the boys and have a real crack at finals over the coming 4 years". He can't say, "why Carlton, well, it was about returning to be with family support for my young family. Anything else?, Nup, good, catcha later."
This is most certainly the most likely outcome. Nearly all defenders do it tough when midfield defensive pressure isn't being applied.
