I know your excited Matt but Moore is 10 times better than Papley and a pimply 18 year old kid.

I would prefer our Club fix his body and he becomes a 200+ game Premiership Magpie.

No Club should lose a player like Moore.
I will be devastated if Moore leaves.

Then only way I recover is if we get two good players and he goes on to be a dud.

Just can’t bare the thought of him in other colours

We need KPPs. We have plenty of decent mids, and even a couple of decent half backs now. Our only tall defender is Dunn, whose nearly done. If Moore goes, we need a tall defender and a first rounder. Alir?

Confident he stays jmac70.

I would be devasted also by the way.
I love him.

Best outcome for us is if we keep Moore and secure Lynch. I don't think that's unachievable either. The focus needs to be on sorting out our own backyard and getting Moore locked up. I reckon we settle Moore in defence and stick to a consistent development path regardless of other pressures. If that gets Moore playing his best footy I don't care what end of the field it's at. Lynch I would love to get but we need to be concious of not overpaying.

Just my two cents but not sure we should be taking everything Nixon says as gospel.

He is correct about one thing Darcy is an awesome young man and he deserves to win a Premiership at our Club.

No one wants Moore to move. I absolutely love Darcy. But his output doesn’t warrant more than 500k at 4 years. I’m sure the Pies management have offered him something close to that.

If another club has offered him more money, he can leave.

At best, he’s worth a first + second round pick or Young player + second round pick.

He could be a quality KPP, but some players want:
Money
Change of scenery
Change of position

I don’t hold anything against any player.
Same with De Goey. Please stay boys.

Don't forget we're also going to have big Will Kelly in the forward line alongside Lynch as well.

Perhaps Moore to Sydney for 1st rounded + Papley wouldn't be the worst result in the world!

They've still got a Mt Buller special or two left in them...
And they get there in the Land Rover.

Wearing a sports jacket with leather patches.

Interesting

Collingwood would have to move on multiple players to find the salary cap room for Tom Lynch

COLLINGWOOD would have to move on multiple players to find the salary cap room if Tom Lynch wanted to join the Magpies.

Restricted free agent Lynch will this week return for Gold Coast after a week in Melbourne spending time with family.

His manager Robbie D’Orazio told the Herald Sun that Lynch had not met Melbourne clubs in that time and would not do so in the future.

BIG CALL: SUNS WANT TO KNOW LYNCH’S CALL

RETURNING STAR: SUNS READY TO TAKE ON GAZ

FIGHTING FIT: LYNCH IS BACK, BUT WILL HE STAY?

Collingwood chief executive Mark Anderson said last weekend the Pies were up against the salary cap this year and next with little wriggle room.

It means Collingwood would need to move on some of the nearly 20 players it still has out of contract if Lynch picked them as his destination of choice.

He is expected to want $1 million a year to move south, although many close to him are adamant he will not ask for crazy figures near $1.5 million a year.

Darcy Moore has been linked to Sydney and Jordan De Goey has seven clubs interested but both have told Collingwood they are keen to stay.

Alex Fasolo and Jamie Elliott will both wait until they are back into the senior team to start contract negotiations.

Elliott, 25, has played 17 of the past 54 games at Collingwood and at 25 would ideally have been in the form to win the most lucrative contract of his career.

Fasolo is well down the forward line pecking order and as a free agent would not only clear cap space but get the Pies a compensation pick if the left for another club.

Matt Scharenberg and Josh Thomas are in early talks after outstanding seasons so far, set to be rewarded for career-best seasons.

Anderson said before last week’s win over the Western Bulldogs the club’s cap space was limited.

“Like all clubs you are right near the capacity of 100 per cent. Most clubs are in that position so we are no different to that,’’ he said.

“Your list management is that skill of managing that right across the next few weeks and ensuring you are keeping the right players and working through that.”

Tyson Goldsack, Kale Kirby, Will Hoskin-Elliott, Tom Langdon, Tim Broomhead, Lynden Dunn, Josh Daicos and James Aish are also out of contract.

Jarryd Blair, Levi Greenwood, Callum Brown, Adam Oxley, Josh Smith and Sam McLarty round out that list.

Lynch is yet to make an official decision and is in no rush despite coach Stuart Dew’s request to know sooner than later this week.

“Tom is heavily invested in the footy club. We’d love to know as soon as possible, for all parties involved. Obviously that’d be a great scenario and we’d love him to stay,” he told AFL360 on Wednesday.

But if Gold Coast doesn’t make the finals he has five weeks to meet clubs and consider his options before the free agency period.

Also, here's that Tom Browne report on Moore...

Hence why we need the pick as well. Alir would really just be a seasoned back up, and you never know what a new development team can do for an underperforming player... Moore case in point.

You would want that player to be undervalued but best 22. Think Crisp. Not a back-up.

Love Darcy and if he could stay fit I'm sure he could be a very good KPP, even if I do think there may be a bit of truth to Leigh Matthews' assessment about his struggle to get involved when the ball is not in the air.

But despite out lack of you quality talks, for some reason I can't bring myself to get that worked up about the thought of him leaving.

What's that all about?

In any case, as it stands he's a Collingwood player right now so I won't lose sleep worrying about rumours and possibilities that haven't yet come to pass.

Which means we potentially give up a Isaac Quaynor or Will Kelly.

They’re fine we’ll just go into defecit on them if necessary. TBH if it were up to me I’d be planning to go into defecit this year.

Our ability to retain AND attract this off-season will be heavily dictated by how badly Allen stuffed up two years ago, IMO. If by some act of god Wells’ third year was heavily trigger focused and Mayne’s heavily front ended acquiring Lynch plus retaining Elliott, Scharenberg, JDG and Moore should be possible. The re-signing of Reid isn’t a good sign because signing a guy with a failing body this early was poor management, IMO, regardless of his minimum chips rate or not.

I would suggest both Goldsack and Fasolo have played their last games for the club and a some of you are lacking creativity re Moore. Let’s say Tom Browne isn’t full of it and Moore has “effectively signed with the Swans” the deal can get done without them including a player with their first pick.

A simple example:

Collingwood:

Out Moore and Sydney 3rd
In Sydney 2018 1st and Jayden Short

Sydney:

In Moore
Out 2018 1st and Collingwood’s 2018 2nd

Richmond:

In: Collingwood’s 2nd and Sydney’s 3rd
Out: Short

More work would be needed obviously because I think Richmond are short changed a bit, but it can be done without including the likes of Ronke (one game wonder), Papley (won’t leave), Heeney (won’t leave plus we can’t afford him) and Aliir (rubbish). You could just as easily replace Short with Fiorini or E Langdon or Dale. The possibilities are endless and I only hope Guy is more creative than Hine and co who seem to have influenced people on here with their bland trade moves.

a pick in the teens is unders for me and even though I like Short (I've watched alot of his footy) he is the definition of steaknives and isn't worth a 2nd & 3rd.
