I know everybody hates a pedant, but I just had to post this

• Field of play dimensions will be 165m along the east-west axis and 130m on the north-south axis. This is slightly shorter than Domain Stadium (Subiaco Oval) but aligned with the MCG, which is 160m x 141m.

Convinent the AFL suddenly have a new interpretation on umpire contact that see's Dusty just get a fine. They'd decided that a month ago though...

If I was in the Geelong, GC or Carlton camp I would be demanding a replay of the games their players were suspended. Threaten legal action if required. Dusty and Robbie Gray get off and SPP did not even get cited. Total inconsistencies.

MCG field size = 176m x 146m

Optus Oval (Perth) = 165m x 130m

Im struggling to understand this at all.

If the AFL GF is going to be held at the MCG for the next several decades why dont the AFL give the highest placed team the best advantage by having the ground dimensions the same as their home ground.

So on GF day last year, the MCG would have been the same dimensions as AO.
