I’d really like to see a rumour about Cripps signing a long term deal with us (I’ll settle for a 2 year extension). There is no doubt he would be the number 1 priority for SOS before the off-season commences.

For what it's worth, my sister was at Simmo's 300th celebration on Saturday night and Cripps told her he was staying.

If Gold Coast finish second last they will get picks 2, and 3 for Lynch leaving.

This gives us a plethora of options to make a deal for pick 1

Pick 1 for Brodie and 3 (take Smith or Walsh)
Pick 1 and 2019 first for pick 2 and 3 (take Smith and Walsh)

And so on

If Lynch and May leave they will have picks 2 , 3 and 4 !!
They could draft the King brothers with 3 and 4 as their replacements and who knows , they might even decide to stay on the coast to play out their careers together.
They may also really fancy Lukosius , if so , what could be manufactured ?
Pick 1 for :
Pick 2 and the Eagles 1st rounder they hold ?
Pick 2 and a player such as :
Ainsworth , Fiorini , Kolojazni , Brodie , Scrimshaw , 2mPeter etc etc ?
With so many picks both present and future available and the ever present possibility of young talent wanting to return to Melbourne , the possibilities are almost endless ...

This stat can be misleading.

I see a lot of other names there are good contested marks and get far more involved in games than Levi...but they use their speed/smarts to get easy uncontested marks which is ideal.

How often do you see Casboult burn off an opponent to turn a contested situation into an uncontested mark, or cleverly get behind his man into open space?
Not very.

I agree...casboult will never become like the others.....did he take the best defender last week? Also if he converted 1-2 of the 3 shots then game would have been a lot closer..his kicking needs to be very good to compliment his marking ability and for him to become a valuable forward

Difficult to know, think Mundy is settled and Dockers are heading in an okay direction, just staggers me that they don't rate KPP

I think we will add 2 FA this year, just not sure who and what the quality will be.

I doubt it will be a Gaff & McGovern, but it maybe a Wallis & Whitecross, both would add some hardness and mongrel

I hope we don't add guys just for the sake of adding guys. Have you seen much of Atley and Drew from Port or who are the guys at interstate clubs that are the equivalent of Doch, Yeo and Polec when they were poached from Brisbane?

Imagine the Hawthorn outrage if GCS had the rules completely changed for them for Lynch, remembering back to the 19 or whatever it was that they got for Buddy.

I might be missing something in your post RB. But you have the suns with picks 2, 3 and 4. Are these 2 other picks from FA? If so i believe you can only receive 1 FA compo pick a year no matter how many leave

Lukosius will likely not stay up there. The King boys will be able to keep each other company and be an excellent marketing tool. They are serious talents in their own right.

There's no way I'd trade 2,3 for pick 1 and change if I had it. Not a chance.

Our 2019 1st isn't change mate. Could very well be pick #1 again.

Instead of getting the pick 10-15 FA compensation

Then: we need to do a 'Dangerfield' type trade - giving up a higher pick plus a player?

Why do people think McVeigh would come to us. He is from NSW. Suspect his wife is from WA.

On the FA front SOS didn't sound like free agents were interesting in coming unless we made ridiculous offers.

Looking at the figures you are spot on. But put the results to the side for second and look at how we have got here.
SOS has traded out experienced talent to re-build the club. This re-build has been fully instigated by the Club and not via a mass exodus of players like Brisbane and Gold Coast. We have gilt edged talent at the club. Granted they are young, raw and inexperienced but our talent can't be denied, regardless of what the media say.
SOS isn't silly, he would gladly take a PP if it were offered but privately we've been told 'no chance' so now we take the 'we don't want a PP' position as positive spin.

As I've posted elsewhere KP.

It is 8 years of horrendous drafting that got us where we are - not our trading.

SOS is just trying to make the best of a "shit sandwich".

We need all the help we can get.

Not very.

Levi is what he is. Best attribute, contested marks. If we had better delivery into the forward 50, he would take even more.
