I for one happen to agree with Matthew Lloyd's analysis regarding our top ups.

Why do we continuously play a 21 year-old Jarrod Pickett, when his place could be taken by a 21 year-old rookie.

Jarrod Pickett is a very talented footballer who has been crueled with injury in his first few years but has shown even at the top level when he gets going and gets some consistency he can be a very good player for us... extremely happy to persist!

You tick all the boxes agree, but please place Lukosius first choice, most will come around soon enough. Highly mobile, huge endurance nice work rate to match, has a ridiculously good kick and footy IQ too.

If we get Setterfield we should take Lukosius. If we don't we should take Walsh

Yep I just don't know where he fits in with our developing backline. He doesn't have the experience/presence to be the leader down back and he is playing roles our younger guys, who are our future, should be playing. His break out year has raised his value, lets cash in while we can (esp seeing as he is one of our main sources of "expendable" value this year)

As others have said, I have serious concerns about recruiting players with serious injuries when we already seem to have some injury prone players (eg marchbank, Pickett, Kennedy, byrne) and a medical/fitness team who aren't great at managing them.

Someone put up a stat that players who do an acl when under 21 I think have a 1/3 risk of doing acl again...if true that puts me off setterfield. Good on ahern but unfortunately he is a higher risk of doing another acl like Patton...lever just did his again 5 years or so after his first.

We need mature mids anyway who will impact straight away...setterfield is basically like a new draftee since he hasn't played.

Scully I can get on board with and rumours were we chased him last year too. Injury permitting.
