It's called an inferiority complex. It's why their club is going nowhere fast. They need to worry about what they are doing and less about the opposition. Obviously they deserve to be angry and upset at Gaffs actions. However, one thing being lost here is that we belted them easily and the margin should have been wider.

Just seen the coaches votes. Gaff was awarded four votes for the game from one coach (and none from the other). I can't see Lyon giving him any votes in the circumstances, which means Simpson must have given him four votes.

I know there's no explicit "fairest" criterion in the AFLCA voting, but it stills feels a bit "off" to adjudicate someone as second BOG when they were the instigator of an incident such as this one. Combined with his post match comments about the intentionality of the incident - regardless of the common English meaning of the word, in AFL-tribunal speak it was absolutely intentional - I can't help but think Simpson's radar has been a little off with this. Sure, provide support to your player but there are other ways of doing so.

Not sure what else you want him to do in that situation. The incident has happened, Gaff is going to the tribunal, Brayshaw is injured. Not sure there’s any more to it. We’re going to accept whatever penalty is handed down, again, don’t know how he’s deflecting anything. All this coming from someone who supports a team that is hellbent on bettering the team up the road in any possible situation rather than focusing on why they’re such a rubbish organisation on and off the field.
