Happy for Conca
Looking like he will get a 4 year deal at around $350k , Kid deserves to make some cash out of the game and he was never in the high earners at Richmond and his last deal was for peanuts whilst injured.

Gone with our blessing
Conca/Lynch trade looking good

Good one for Reece - 4 years 350K.

I reckon he'll be good for Freo - inside outside, great character, good on the structures, 1%s and tackles. Not A grade, but is a very useful part of the overall midfield puzzle. Freo have got a great improvement on their midfield depth cheap.

As for the Tigers to me this means that we must have something else lined up for midfielders coming in. Conca was a first 22 player all year. So losing him means we must expect an upgrade coming in. The midfield depth isn't that great anyway, and most of the VFL players have been traded away (by reports). So either the tigers brains trust expect no injuries and great form from the first 22, or there is someone/people coming in of higher quality than Reece. Interesting.

It’s interesting that the Richmond fans have all the good will for Conca in this thread and the opposition / neutral fans think he’s useless.

Best 22 for Fremantle but nowhere near top ten. If the salary that has been quoted is correct, then it’s a good get.

He gives 110% but his decision making and disposal is what lets him down.
He give a lot of handballs to players under pressure.
Good luck to him though.

Go and read some game day threads in games where he played, you'll soon find their real feelings toward him.

Perfect fit for us.

We have an extremely young list and struggled with the few injuries we had last year so at a reasonable price we get a ready made, body wise, AFL player able to provide great depth.

Who knows he might improve with an bit of luck in the injury department and work his way into our best 22. Is he a walk up start, probably not. Is he important to our list, yeah I think so.

Another case of bringing home WA talent which we, as a club, seem to be focusing on.

This is a good offseason move for the club.

Some Tiger fans hate him. But he is one of those whipping boys for people. To my eye he is a great role player, and that's it. His role is to play the system to help get the stars going, and to improve our defense and ball movement by his placement of himself. If he gets a lot of the ball you'll see some good stuff, and a few clangers. So you want him there to allow your better players more scope to do their thing. For freo he might have a more central role to support the kids development. He's a good guy and trains hard.

Put it this way he's absolutely best 22 for the RFC in 2018, but closer to bottom 6 than top 6.

I have seen him play some pretty decent games for the Tiggers. And he has kicked a few goals as well. If he is good enough to play for the League's home and away champs then he sure as hell is Best 22 for the mob that finished 14th. If anything it means that we will have someone in the midfield that can lay a decent tackle.

A handy get for Freo methinks.

$350k per year is peanuts for a player in the prime of his career. You'd think his manager would say sign a 2 year deal in the hope he could push his value up .

If he’s best 22 for Richmond, he’s easily best 22 for Freo.
Sounds like he’s gonna be a whipping boy for Fremantle fans too.

Honestly he would be ranked 20-25 on our list and i wouldnt be willing to pay him $1.5 mil over 4 years as he can be replaced with a cheaper player

Richmonds list is 8-10 gun type players and the rest will be soldiers so these funds would be better spent on re signing
Rioli - Vlastuin - Higgins - Graham

This is true of almost every side in the comp that's challenging. It isn't your best 10 that win you flags its your 11 - 22 types. If you can get something from them every week and they are consistent and play within themselves the they add plenty.

Last player that Fremantle needs is this crab. He is hopeless and Richmond will be happy to shuffle him out the door for a draft pick.

350k per year is nothing for a best 22 player

Yeah, you're getting a solid buy (subject to injury)

Don't know if \he'll be a whipping boy for you guys. He's cheap and hopefully over his injuries. If he stays fit you'll probably be pretty happy with him overall - some shouting at dumb mistakes though :p. But he's also likely to improve your defensive and attacking structures immediately. He's the guy that adds to your midfield rather than drives it. So well done if it happens.

350k per year is nothing for a best 22 player
He is not guaranteed best 22 player he is 20-25 depending on who is available

when you have 10 players taking up $6.5 mil the remaining salary cap doesnt allow for fringe players to get $350k
Rance
Cotchin
Martin
Caddy
Riewoldt
Vlastuin
Prestia
Lynch
Rioli
Lambert

I'm openly not a Conca rater, never have been. 4 years is stupid, his injury history and form doesnt justify that. Hes done a great job of getting that length of commitment, but that's awful list management from Freo. Hes much more likely to be in rehab for 3 years than he was going to suddenly become a gun in 2 years and demand more money.
