Wow our defence is gonna struggle this year.
The lack of numbers down back with the 6-6-6 means less time to make a correct decision.
Bombing it long and turning it over is gonna be rife
We seriously need to have a re think about who can handle the pressure down back and who can’t.
Difference between finals and bottom 6 IMO

High scoring, but a disappointing opening quarter. 6 of Ports 7 goals were from our mistakes, poor kicks, handballs or missed tackles.
If Tarrant isn’t fit for round 1 we will be in serious trouble in Perth, we don’t have the depth to cover the number of players we currently have out.

Will put together some more comprehensive thoughts post game but so far

This is the first game of the pre season I've actually had a chance to sit down and watch in full. The rule changes look as though they'll reward clean hands and smart centre bounce play. We will benefit from this having Goldstein play a full season

Wood is far too casual when kicking inside 50. For a bloke who looks a million bucks doing the hard shit he looks like a mug lair doing what should be a bread and butter skill

Really like what I've seen from Bailey Scott. Off this very limited viewing, he will play 200 games and average 20-25 touches for every full season he plays

Ahern looks ready. McDonald does not

Is LMac under the assumption that he was part of the Polec trade? I can't think of another reason why he's so keen to give it to Port players.

On another note, Pauly is a ****ing jet. What an absolute gem we have there.

Ryder is an incredible tap ruck. Might not dominate the hitouts, but it's what he does with them.
