Trump genuinely seems to have taken a different line on interventionist foriegn policy though, I support healthcare and respect Obama for trying to improve that, but he was more of the same or perhaps even worse than Bush in terms of foriegn policy, and I think this has been a major contributer to the cynicism about what the dnc might dish up especially if its democrat establishment figures like Clinton or Warren.

Trump is despised by the establishment and for very good reason. Wall street, Soros, the unions etc hate him because he cant be bribed. The public service hates him because he's them costing jobs and cutting red tape. Defence and the intelligence agencies hate him because he's bringing peace to the world.

I'd happily argue that there's nothing wrong with voting for a party whose victory will bring you 4 years (edit: 8 years) of joy and thus a probable increase in the quality of your life. Sometimes we just have to serve our own interests.

See, this is what I don't get. There's a perception amongst a great many people that Putin is controlling Trump and between them U.S standing in the world is going south. I'm completely on the fence as far as an actuality of that goes, but my socialist lefty knob is positively throbbing at the prospect of a loss of U.S hegemony across the globe.

Mueller finds nothing and the train keeps a'rollin. Mind you I don't want Russia or China to take the place of the U.S as world hegemon either, because that would be shit on quite a few fronts. Let them all counter each other as lesser but equal powers, and let's see Europe throw off the choke-chain that is NATO and become the Fourth Corner its been trying to be for a while now.
