It's the same process wise ass.

Test positive to A sample ---> Test B sample ----> Negative/Positve -----> Banned if positive

We're still yet to find out the B sample results.

Another example.
Lachie Keefe and Josh Thomas, A sample positive in March, B Sample positive in May.

Every legal case is different. You don't need a law degree to know that.

I also don't see what the rush is. Some people here think it's some conspiracy on the behalf of ASADA because it's a Collingwood player, which is flat out laughable.

Will his 2 years be back dated assuming that’s what he gets?

We are waiting for the statute of limitations to kick in. ;)

Unless it’s a good quality type can’t see the need for bringing in a very basic type.

Why are people persisting with:

Waiting for the B sample.

The samples would be completed and the legal discussions and agreements are yet to be completed.

NB: if the B sample was compromised the case would be thrown out.
So this would be resolved with Murray being available.

Agreed, as per the highlighted section in the below screenshot from the ASADA website. The relevant sports tribunal in this case is the AFL’s therefore the delay in finalising is most likely due to the AFL - no surprises there.

So he tested postive and there trying to work out his Punishment?

Shouldn't be that hard, it's either 2 years or 4 years.

One would think so but given the delay and that this is the AFL we’re talking about, it could well be the AFL is trying to finesse a 12 month ban and negotiating with ASASA to get them to accept the reasoning. Who knows, it will all come out eventually.

That’s it in a nutshell.

If sample B was tarnished he’d be free. Like winning tattslotto.

So I assume it’s just negotiation to the circumstances of that particular positive test.

Like seriously how long can it take to achieve a result from a secondary sample. It's been over 7 months since he initially tested positive!
Repeat from above.
The sample B is back.

It would be positive ie the same as sample A.

So then a decision to punishment needs to be made. He is entitled to representation and they would be arguing the actual circumstances of the breach. When, how purpose of the drug taken. When taken, proof given thereof etc.

And to boot, the penalty is proscribed to circumstances, I’d suggest.
