FFS Dwayno discussing with S Hocking that there needs to a statue erected of Eddie Betts in his pocket that can be unveiled on his retirement.
Also saying PAFC has been left behind in one area of growth, and that is AFLW.

Aha. Reckon you should read it to see what a newcomer to the Polec conversation has to say with a very small sample size. Link below, but here's the bit of relevance:No mate, had a dig at old mate did he?
“Rocket, we can’t think”
“Sorry mate ... LOOK AT MINSON AGAIN! **** HIM!!!” lol
Very NSFW language btw.

I think it was fair to boo a few weeks ago vs South Adelaide when we were down 15-0 in the free kick count in the first quarter. The Booing outrage is bizarre & hey I rarely boo umpires even but how on earth do they expect to police it.
Marginally better then a B-Grader, but does need the heavy lifters/hard workers around him to thrive. In regards to being over paid, maybe, but Polec probably wouldn’t have left if Norf didn’t pay overs. Good luck to him.North did this to themselves offering an elite footballer's salary to a B-grade one.
So just read the AFL website article on the teams for tomorrow night.
Quote “the now annual ANZAC day eve game”
Since when does playing one previous game equal “annual”?
It means you have played once before. ONCE. Why didn’t they give the same privilege to North Melbourne and the Saints for the now annual Good Friday game or for Port playing in China.
Guess that Port, Norths, Suns and Saints don’t rate at AFL house.

I don't really think many umpires consider their reputation vital to their job. It doesn't come down to the tallies of free kicks given to teams as much as it does the obedience that the umpires show towards the rules in place. If the AFL wanted to improve the perception of umpires they wouldn’t pretend they never made mistakes (or at least very rarely admit they stuffed things). Players and coaches are under much more pressure and there’s no ‘don’t mention the war’ with them. The media get things wrong, they get called out.
I’m happy for the AFL to bump the pay and go professional, but include transparency as part of it. If a player gets dropped to the reserves the coaches will say they need to work on X, Y or Z. If an umpire puts in a few poor games, the umpires boss should say ‘<X> is going back to the VFL/WAFL/SANFL to work on their calls of <Y>’. Sure at first there’d be some ‘That cost us the game!’, but we already get that. I’d rather an organisation that isn’t afraid to go ‘Hmm, West Coast, Adelaide and Geelong get a much higher number of frees at home, regardless of performance, let’s look at this without assuming our umpires are perfect and it’s just a statistical fluke’.
I came here to ask, why the **** does there need to be an ANZAC eve game, especially when ANZAC Day falls in the middle of the week? Presumably if AD is on a Wednesday they'll play a game on the Tuesday night - will those games be the start of a new round or the end of the previous round?; would two of the teams have to play the following Monday, even if that's not a public holiday? Madne$$.
