No, it's stupid to use the top 8 as any sort of measuring stick 5 rounds in.

I don't think it is a stupid comparison. After 7 rounds you usually don't see more than 1 or 2 changes to the top 8. I think that might be a bit different this season due to the oddly even start to the year but we're not far off it. Although some context could be added with Richmond because even though they haven't started well we know they're a good team.
