Stats for the game mean nothing in the context of that game?
Please do you actually listen to yourself.
So the umpires didn't lose you the game - the Pies were ahead most of the day and in the majority of the stats. So we won?
Whats your complaint?
sameold...sameold
Well, I was reading so not listening to myself but, yes, I can read. I did not say that the Pies were not deserving winners and I was not complaining. Why don't you go back and read the posts I was replying to and then come back with something sensible instead of saying that I was complaining because the Pies won the game and the stats?

Although it is not relevant to what I am saying here, I think the Pies are a great team, well drilled and deserving winners. Pendlebury is a wonderful player who makes time when he has possession (he milked that free yesterday but that is on the umpires - not him), Bucks is a decent person and coach. None of this is relevant to the points I was making. The stats were also not relevant to the point I was making...

You know what amuses me with the Pendles free?

If it was an Essendon player and the free wasn't payed, most would be crying about it.

Gone are the days when the Bombers used to lose the elimination finals, Geelong would lose the prelims, and the Pies would lose the Grannys!
(sorry about your wife - must have been a lovely lady if she followed the Pies;))
Yes, I well remember our eliminitis !! She's been gone a year now The Mrs, thought of her all day yesterday, she would've loved giving it to me. Miss that.

The stats aren't relevant to the point you were making...Is it possible that the point you are trying to make is also not relevant?

There were about 5 frees for high tackles which could have been paid to Walla which weren't paid. And yes, many Ess fans weren't happy about it. One of the reasons there was booing, you might have heard about it?

Condolences..
Like to think the Pies won for your missus. She'll be happy.
Hope the day wasn't too hard for you and that there are more happy memories than sad ones matey.:thumbsu:

Of course it's possible. And it's similarly possible that you've lost the argument and so are resorting to snide comments.

5 free kicks to walla? FFS

There was one he probably should have got but was plausibly not paid because he collapsed his knees in to the tackle. He does that a lot a will rightfully find himself missing frees.

Where were the other 4?

Essendon got gifted two goals from terrible free kicks.....a handful of other free kicks might have gone their way, with that Walla one the only one even forward of centre.

Pendles accentuated it but it was a straight up and down free kick. He bent over to pick up a ball and was tackled by two players front on.

Any statement on the garbage umpiring yesterday that caused the boos?

If any of us screwed up our jobs that badly we would be fired without a second thought.

Look I agree with you that umpiring decisions can affect momentum and the tempo of play and obviously possession. But I would have control of the ball is more of a disposal efficiency issue than an umpiring one.
The advantage rule has gone a long way to stopping the professional free kick that used to be a ploy to disadvantage the team in control of the ball.
Maybe we have differing definitions of what "control of the ball" is?

I'm not going to compete with you on a "lets compare injustices and hardships". It's boring and pointless.

And I agree that the Pies' disposal efficiency was better than Essendon's.

Collingwood were on the wrong end of the umpires apparently
