Wouldn't constantly reaffirming that you are a 'masculine' man to the people on this board suggest that you have deeper insecurities at play?
Outside of O'Brien & Hunter (who is likely to be delisted), what other ruckmen do Adelaide have on their list? If they let Jacobs go surely they are going to be too thin in the ruck department for 2020 unless Grundy is signed up.I missed the press conference but did pyke really say he expects Jacobs around the club in 2020? Surely not

Yes, next year is about rebuilding the group for the next flag, not hanging on to older players to finish mid table.Draft mature aged rucks, it's not rocket science. We're not going to win shiet next year so it's irrelevant if ROB goes down with injury.
Rob, Strachan and Hunter. We become to top heavy in the sanfl with too much more than that. We will definite recruit one to replace Sauce.Outside of O'Brien & Hunter (who is likely to be delisted), what other ruckmen do Adelaide have on their list? Would you trust us to not play him as soon as robs form dipped by the smallest amount?Jacobs is a mature age ruck!
We've already got him, we know he's a passable back up and he'll be cheap. Would rather keep him that seek out another Hunter or Angus Graham. And certainly don't want to use trade capital on such a minor role.
Draft a long term prospect.
Well no but the incompetence of our coaching staff is a separate issue.Would you trust us to not play him as soon as robs form dipped by the smallest amount?

I've heard there is a 50 goal a season 200cm forward who can play in the ruck who might be on the trade table. Would be good back up for ROB if we (please) let Sauce goRob, Strachan and Hunter. The early 20s dud would carry the exact same negatives you're allocating to Jacobs. As far as impeding the development of others.I meant mature aged as in early twenties, not post 25 (let alone 30). I don't want to trade for one, ROB was picked in the Rookie draft and has proven to be competent.
If ROB remains uninjured than the development of Strachan and anyone else is massively impeded with the inclusion of Sauce. You can't just bench Sauce the whole season and hope he will perform when required, he needs minutes too. There is only one ruck position you can split between a couple of players, we're not talking a midfielder here.
ROB goes down with injury we might uncover a hidden gem in Strachan or someone else. Which can fight it out for the no1 ruck spot or we can parlay on for draft picks. The possible minor upside of Sauce's performance is far outweighed by the development of a new player.
I'd rather go after a Frampton type - he's a long way back at Port and can play forward and ruck.Jacobs is a mature age ruck!

Sure they might not be any good, but the ceiling is better than Sauce who's ceiling is caving inThe early 20s dud would carry the exact same negatives you're allocating to Jacobs. As far as impeding the development of others.
IMO we're better off keeping Jacobs than scouring the nation for another Hunter.

A mature age is 23-26 so still has a few years still to contribute something meaningful
You're talking Hunter or Angus Graham
They don't contribute anything meaningful.
If we're talking a hail mary early 20s option who might hopefully develop into something over time we already have Strachan.
You're talking equivalentsI'm not talking about examples from our club.
You're talking equivalents
State league rucks that we find
Or AFL listed rucks who aren't getting a regular game and happy to move states to be #2

Jacobs was targeted to be #1.Like Jacobs was? Like Lycett was?
