Lloyd where is the love for Plowman.

Nice team, with Dow and LOB fighting for selection in the 2s, I like.
Watched it and I thought Caro was dismissive of the Teague/Carlton coach process and generally felt that she is not happy to see Carlton come good! I have no idea what we've done! AFIIC

Not sure she is generally happy about anything.

Curnow and McGovern are marking forwards, their height is irrelevant.

It is relevant when you're creating different forward line structures for different teams.

McKay is the legitimate tall forward that can back up in the ruck.
FWIW, Wright has actually stated he doesn’t like playing in the ruck.

We don't want McKay in the ruck, why risk injury in that role.

Link to Wright saying that?

Cameron is your depth and a genuine ruckman.

Played one game in 2018 and got 3 touches.

To say you have no faith atm in TDK is to say you may as well not draft at all ...

Never said no faith, Young talls always get the benefit of time because they don't mature until they are 24+ so we've still time before that happens.

Cogs, Papa and Martin in one trade period is not out of the question.

Cogs- FA
Papley- 1st Round Value
Martin - 2nd Round Value

We have enough assets to secure this

Yes and we have enough salary cap too thanks to SOS. And when our youngsters come out of contract and they’re getting offered say an extra $100K or $200K to go to say the Saints or North are they really going to walk away from their close mates and a Top 4 team with a serious chance of winning a flag? From playing with some of the best players in the league? I doubt it. The only ones leaving will be those who can’t get a game.

We add Cogs, Papley and Martin and we work our way up the ladder we will end up with more free agents and others wanting to come - even for less than market value.

My thinking its too much for a small forward. Rather put that on the table for another midfielder who can rest forward.
Martin and Cogs will play forward and our current crew in who can also in Murphy, Cunners, Fisher, Gibbons, Kennedy, Setters, Dow .... Top ten is way overs.
Not if he is contracted it`s not...........and he is!!!

brad scott doesn't see the need to go through a process - welcome to newstart, brad..........
"Brad, we'd like to chat before annointing you...."

I do get the feeling the media is trying to pressure Coniglio into staying and trying to shift public opinion that way.

Everyone in the mainstream has said the whole time they think he will stay, but I just don't see it at all. It's been compared to Martin but really i don't think Martin was ever leaving. Cogs doesn't feel that way

I get it, it's in the AFLs best interest that the good players stay at these clubs. If GWS falls down the ladder and the Suns don't go anywhere soon they'll both fold imo. GWS despite the on field success really don't have a strong supporter base. If the success flounders they're in real strife

That’s a huge call Coops. Personally, I can see both franchises deserving to fold, but I can’t see the AFL actually allowing it to happen, because Gil & Co need a meaningful presence in those sizeable markets (horrible corporate speak, I know, but let’s face it - TV and corporate sponsors are a crucial driver in the game).

No, if required, I think that the AFL will simply pour obscene amounts of money into GWS and the Suns to artificially keep them afloat, until such time that technological advances allow those clubs to attract and retain players who are strong, reliable, and loyal to those frontier franchises. I’m thinking of players along the lines of these prototypes, who should have no problem coping with the atmosphere at GIANTS Stadium and Metricon Stadium:

If this is the case Clarko could be dirty on the Blues an gonna start playing "cat an mouse" stuff in regards to Cogs?
Clarko has come out and said he has spoken to Cogs, how does /will the club respond.

I don’t know about that.

Clarko doesn’t seem the type that would resort to cheap shots :)

Averages can be misleading. 9 of his 20 goals came in 3 games. Has gone goalless in 7 games. Only managed 11 since April.
Many of his possessions are junk.
Yes, I can't see why Sam Gray would be a target. They need to focus on bringing in elite talent not the C-B graders.

Casboult has lifted his rating this year, that’s good for Carlton but i doubt he is part of Silvagni’s grand plan going forward.
People want Papley, but don’t want to pay the Adelaide pick.
People want Martin, but want to pay unders.
If we want quality, we have to be prepared to pay for it.
Papley for Adelaide pick ... done
Martin for future 2nd and Casboult ... done
Identify our targets and get it done, that’s what the good operators do and managers like dealing with such clubs.
He is the perfect all rounder. Why the hec wouldn't you want him for another coupla years at least? Can ruck and play forward or back. Who else can come in and do a 'Liam' like job down back?
Maybe depends how far away you think finals are? I can see us making the 8 next year.

We are at a point where it is all about quality for FA and trades.

We aim high, so Cognilio, Martin and Papley, great if we land them.

If we don’t land all of them, then the lessons are there of what not to do (and so we think very carefully if we instead take B. Crouch, S. Gray, etc.):

North 2018 - Polec, Hall, Pittard, Tyson

Port -
2018 - Lycett, Burton, Mayes
2017 - Rockliff, Watts, Motlop

Tippett and Franklin at Sydney are others.
