More likely the Swans get Cripps, having played all his careeer for a bottom 2 team, though he finally had an achievement in season 2019 & turned his team into a destination club by finishing 3rd bottom.
The over inflation of where Carlton are at is mind boggling & Carlton would be the last club Papley would go to should he ever want to come to Melbourne.
Hey big mouth ..are you ok ?

Blues list manager in a slight pickle imo .... it’s great for the Blues to be a club on the rise BUT with a next yrs draft having very little value it only really leaves this yrs picks with real currency ....🤔
He's worth this years pick. Blues have a lot of young players taken in the first few rounds. They need the experienced players with genuine skills now while all those young guys come through the system.

North yet AGAIN miss out on a gun player..
"Gun" - lets not get too carried away now.

Carlton offered 700k, North wanted him for 500k according to SEN. I think his true value is probably down the middle but of course you have to pay a bit more to get a player to move for the most part.

Going to be interesting to see what sydney accepts

Papley is contracted until end season 2021. The trigger clause is media huge and really not applicable. The Swans wishful thinking not official and counter singed both parties, preserving Tom’s market value.

I guess we cant say " Tom wants to go to Carlton so we'll take whatever they offer and wish him all the best"
If we don't at least kick up a bit of a stink we're just inviting trouble down the road.
Cue the "no way, hands off our man, he's contracted" talk. Might just stay like that for the next week.

The only difficulty could be needing to hold off till v.late to see what happens about Daniher. Dons can be shockers to deal with. Assuming we are actually chasing the guy.

He's a gun mate. Not a superstar or anything, but a genuine match winner and is only going to get better.
You said he was North bound.. massive LOL's

Ok for Swans to play hard ball, but Essendon = shocking to deal with.....

Nice little get for Carlton
Papley playing small fwd/part time mid + Martin is a good offseason.

Wait what.

Media is saying Carlton's offer is $550-650,000 per season.

The only figure quoted for North was $800,000-900,000 per season.

Looks like the warchest has failed yet again.

800-900k

Questions need to be asked at North

Yes they do ............
But usually contracted players get to their clubs after the team they want to get to agrees to pay the price requested by his old club

Example : 29 year old Bryce Gibbs

Ohhh Yeah im new
You should never use the Crows trading as any example of normal ..they are a shambles of a club at the moment for a reason

I'm honestly surprised that there's talks of Carlton giving away more than pick 8 for papley. Pick 8 by itself seems fine.

because he is contracted for such a long time. Therefore his desire to leave carries next to no weight.

If you ask sydney supporters whether they want Papley or pick 8 ... 99% will say Papley.

It has to be a deal that we would be keen to do whether Papley wanted out or not, and pick 8/9 is not it.

That said, our club does its fair share of dumb stuff so I wouldnt be surprised if we accepted one first round pick.
