Remaining stoic, mostly because I have full trust in those now at the helm

I'm with you 100 % there Dard.

From the outside it appears we now have the best off field team assembled in my many many years of following the Saints.

I'm still pinching myself.

What that translates to on field.....time will tell.

After Bruce and Stuv leave it will leave a gaping hole in our cap space (of which not even hill could fill) Jones won't be on a lot and Ryder is earning less than average AFL wage.
This paired with the fact gubby allen is now with us...
Whitfield

Get Hanners to give him the personal tour of Melbourne's best Bolivian eateries and he'll be onboard.

Well the hawks got Scully for a warm can of coke and will get Patton for a half eaten Snickers so, based on that, I'm pretty confident we could get Smith for as little as pick 5, next year's 1st and Ming's first born
Scully played like he was worth a warm can of coke this year.

Reading between the lines the club is motivated to move Jack Steven on. Yes, the club is stating that Jack’s health is priority number one however I suspect this is also a way of trading him & managing supporter backlash. Unfortunately the Cats are standing by for the scraps & will get Steven for a late pick. Without looking at their draft hand I think it will be around pick 60.
As a Saints supporter it’s easy to get outraged by this scenario however if you dig deeper you will see that moving Jack on is mutually beneficial.

Hill will be a nice acquisition however listening to Bell & knowing his form line when it comes to trades we will pay top dollar. Pick 6 in a straight swap is about as good as it will get.

Bruce is severely overrated by our supporters. He’s drastically inconsistent & is worth around pick 25 IMO. Anything more is a win. However I think we’ll get slightly overs seeing as he’s contracted so a pick around 25 plus an upgrade from 60 to 40 or thereabouts would be a good outcome.

Jones for a pick in the 20-30 vicinity is fair. We have a good trade relationship with the Swans so I think this trade gets done seamlessly.

Ryder is a fee hit. Pick 60 plus should get it done. Although a Gray/Ryder 2for1 might make it pick 40 for the two.

Nothing much in the media on Newnes, McKenzie or Acres however they look to be expendable.

Not rebuild 2.0 but it looks like a significant reboot with a focus on trading 15-25 rated players on our list.

A lot of trades & pick swaps to get the deals over the line.

Why? Due to the number

doubt Whitfield likes gubby. Anyway he is staying this year. What happens after that not sure but I think he will stay. Won’t come to us with gubby around

That is what I have been pointing out for a while. Many seem to assume that he is going FA and will then use that compo for Jones BUT I am jet to hear of one club actually talking with Newnes.
That's the question I asked last week. No one had any answers then either.

Pretty much what I said about a week ago. Still think we might get slightly more for jack. I actually think bruce is vital to our set up and that is why I’m pissed off losing for around that pick. Choice of Bruce or Jones which seems a straight swap. I’m going bruce every time. We are going to be upset with jones kicking. It’s very ordinary

Boy oh Boy us Saints supporters love playing the victims.
Everyone picks on us, their all nasty to us OMG
We get treated how most clubs do when you have been crap for so long
That fact that Dal couldn't bite his tongue and openly agreed/argued that we were being screwed with the Jack Steven trade tells me we have every right to feel screwed over.
