I see Juddy has decided to give FC the flick. Probably a smart move, he really shouldn't have to be in the hot seat every week when things aren't going swimmingly for us. The issue over the "training wheels" remark got so blown up and overcooked, it was ridiculous.
It seems he's putting his commitment to the club ahead of his media commitments. Good on him! :thumbsu:

Chris Judd walks away from Footy Classified in program shake-up

Belongs in the Carlton no longer in the media thread ;)

It's not a big deal in reality, Fev will be more remembered for his 99 than some who have kicked 100+
The big deal of it was that Clarkson deprived the whole football world of a game where 2 players reached the 100 goal milestone in the same game. I don't think it's ever happened before, and with the way football has evolved, I can't see it ever happening now.

Clarkson's just a small-minded little ***t, and that night proved it beyond any doubt.

So Campbell Brown has come out and said sorry to Fev for them not allowing him his 100th.

Clarko is a dog.
if we'd managed to get fev to 100 and stopped buddy getting his...……….we'd be wrapt………………. seek & destroy me, clowns...……….

Completely agree. We'd have been celebrating and saying sucked in to Buddy.

It's a professional sport, you have to earn your achievements - not expect the opposition to take it easy on you and let you get it.

Could never happen again. Odds of it in the *same game* *again* (with that era of individual goal kicking over) start to reach astronomical figures. Would’ve been forever etched in footy lore...the scenes would be replayed for centuries...one of our games’ best moments in it’s history. Can’t do much about it now but it really is a shame..

Fact - Clarkson wears elevator insoles.

You would really? Even if we were already leading by as much as they were on the night.

I'd like to think most of us have a better sense of sportsmanship - not to mention history - than that.

But you could be right, humanity does have a habit of failing to live up to even the lowest expectations ...

That’s all well and good but Hawthorn were about 12 goals up and it wasn’t really a man on man contest, Clarkson had about 6 defenders surrounding Fevola in the last 10 minutes of that game - that’s not sport, and wasnt decided on its merits.

It doesn’t sit well with me either agro. Dirty king hit sniper . Up by heaps and flooding back . Grrrrrrrrr. Is there another precedent in sport similar to this ? That’s my question .

That's exactly what I hated about it the most, and exposed Clarkson for the worm that he is. Once the game was in the bag, his sole focus was to prevent Fev's ton, at any cost.

Play your best defender on him, even double team him, but stack the backline like you're trying to save the game? ... spare me.

And it's not that it was a Carlton player (although that heightens the sting) if it was any player from any team - well, maybe except * - I would have felt the same way. Just a complete lack of any sense of occasion.

Interesting, I heard it completely the opposite, pretty much ruling it out but leaving a small amount of wiggle room just in case.

I would be surprised if we take Bennell after those comments.
I think it will be totally dependant on who else is available. Tigers have shown with picket what can happen once he has matured and changed his ways. Only problem with Bennell is he has shot calves. If there is no other candidate it may be worth putting him on for a year and letting Russell weave his magic.
